    Iran has balls

(Reuters) - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on U.S. President Barack Obama on Monday to face him in a televised one-on-one debate to see who has the best solutions for the world's problems.

"Toward the end of summer we will hopefully be there for the (U.N.) General Assembly and I will be ready for one-on-one talks with Mr. Obama, in front of the media of course," Ahmadinejad told a conference of Iranian expatriates in Tehran.

"We will offer our solutions for world issues to see whose solutions are better."

Ahmadinejad suggested such a debate last September, which was not taken up by Washington. He said Obama's predecessor, George W. Bush, had declined similar invitations because he was "scared".

In his speech, the president mocked the sanctions and the potential for a military strike against Iran's nuclear facilities, an option that the United States and Israel say they do not rule out.

"Who do you think is going to attack us? The Israeli regime? ... We don't consider the regime in our equations, let alone attacking us," he said.

"They say we'll issue sanctions? Okay, do it. How many resolutions have you issued so far? Four? Make it 4,000," he said to loud applause from the conference.

Both Iran and the United States have indicated willingness to return to nuclear talks which stalled last October, leading to the new sanctions.

Amid the anti-American rhetoric in which he said U.S. policy was based on colonialism and the "law of the jungle", Ahmadinejad said he was ready for talks "based on justice and respect".

"We are ready to hold talks at the highest level," he said. "We have always favored talks, Iranians have never, ever favored war."

I’ll give it to him. He’s got balls. I don’t like the current regime in charge of Iran, but at least they’ve got old-school iron clad balls over there, something we castrated from our member a long time ago.

Obama won't accept, he's war bent. And he won't be able to use a teleprompter, and he'd never do it free style and be exposed.

It wasn't a denial conference, it was an open debate, and had many pro-holocaust people too.

Balls? Seriously? If he didn't have Russia and China backing him up he'd be squashed like the little Napolean complex pipsqueak that he is.

If the USA didn't have thousands of nukes stockpiled and bio and chem weapons at easy use, we wouldn't be bullying the world either.

He doesn't really have anyone backing him up, but he does have countries willing to buy what he's selling, and willing to sell him what he wants to buy. Iran is full of hatred toward their own government. I hope the next time reformists and protesters hit the streets of Tehran, the crowds are too vast to overcome and another revolution occurs. I hope this not for US interested necessarily, but just for the people of Iran. I help put together tours in Iran and send people there all the time, and every single one of them comes back and says two things: 1) it was amazing and wonderful and beautiful, and 2) almost every person they talked to over there expressed that just because our governments don't see eye to eye, it is important that the citizens of both nations are welcoming and friendly toward each other, and they have nothing against the people of America and Britain, just their respective governments.

Ive known countless middle eastern people in my life, most of them close friends, and all native born from different countries such as Armenia, Turkey, Palestine, and Iran. If I had to choose a race other than my own that I like the most, I would have to say it's middle easterns. Why? Because they have the riot in them, and I like that in a man. I've especially had a lot of close Iranian friends, including my best friend, and those are my favorite homies to party with too! lol.

Really though, don't let the propaganda machine convince you otherwise, the fact is that if you went to most other countries and talked one-on-one with the natives, you would see that everyone for the most part wants to get along, and even countries that come with heavily impressed, deep seeded prejudices towards residents of another country (like Persians and Jews) can get over that relitavely quickly. People will say that they hate America or Israel or Iran etc etc, but if you put 10 people in a room, all from different countries, they will usually get along pretty well, like they were neighbors.

It is not the nature of people to want war, but rather the nature of governments or regimes looking for power that want war. An individual's power in society rests on his standing in the community & how he is viewed by others, whereas a government cannot have power unless it conquers all of it's citizens and clings onto that power. A government rarely gets any noteriety or status by being upstanding citizens, respected members of the community or by being a good neighbor.

Remember above all, that we are all citizens together, not governments, so there is no need to create an artificial/ideological divide between us. Whether you believe in the bible (Adam and Eve) or you believe in science (that we all came from Africa), the fact is that we are all from the same family and all have the same blood pumping through our veins. Don't let your government or corporate masters ever convince you that it is necessary to kill your brother. It's all a show, and it's for their benefit, not yours.

Great post sgreger! Seeing as you have Iranian friends, surely I don't need to remind you, but your use of the term "middle easterns" brought it to mind: The term Middle Eastern is associated with Sunni Arabs, and Iranians (Shia Persians) HATE to be called or confused with Arabs. That is just one more misconecption that the "stupid American" doesn't even care to rectify in their far-reaching hatred of Islam; the fact that most people have no clue about the historical, religious, and ethnic divide between Persians and Arabs, and couldn't tell you the difference even with a map and a stack of encyclopedias in front of them. But that's peanuts compared to the average dipshit who sees an Indian or Pakistani Sikh wearing a turban and thinks he must be a terrorist. I have an old friend who is a Sikh and he said right after 9-11 everyone looked at him as though he just beat a baby over the head with a shovel.

Yah i'm aware of the distinction but I don't care to be that specific because I am not obliged to. Everyone knows what I mean by middle easterners here. But your right, Iranians are VERY different from say Iraqi's or Kurds by a longshot, both in culture and in everything else.

All my middle eastern friends are all friends together but always joke about how their countries hate each other. For example, I used to hang with a lot of Armenian guys and we had one Turkish friend. There were lots of ongoing jokes because, as some of you know, the Armenains and the Turks didn't get along to well for a while. Something about an armenian genocide that ticked them off lolololol.

Speaking of which, my Palistinian friend who works at Costco just hooked me up with 4 new bridgestone tires! My old ones were bald as Frosted's head. (Yah i'm tlaking to you Frosted, aka "Wrecker of Oceans")

All in all, the "middle eastern" people are so different in every country that it is in a way unfair to group them all as "middle easterners". The difference between an Iranian and an Arab is like the difference between an American white kid and a mexican national. Often times when people lump "middle easterners" all together, like you mentioned, it is not correct because that would be like grouping the Irish with Americans. Both very different people, but kinda look alike. Or grouping a British person with someone from Alabama because we're all "westerners". I don't care to make the distinction but your right, a lot off people in the middle east will be quick to correct you if you improperly group them with someone not of their country.

I can sit down and drink a beer with any race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. I suppose most people could as well, even those "racist" tea partiers (of which I was a member of at one time). It's only when governments get on the radio and start pitting us against each other that people like myself will suddely feel inclined to join the army in hopes of picking up a rifle and killing off as many haji's as possible in order to feel like you served some great purpose. If there is one greater purpose that we should all enlist in, it's learning to get along. It is only once we refuse to play the governments games that we will truly be as free as many Americans wish to be.
