Like with everything, anything can be spun which ever way a person wants. While I don't disagree with some of the things written, there are always two sides to every story and hopefully our parents and our education allow us to discern what is left OR right wing propaganda and make good choices.

I'd love to see a post listing Bush's czar list spun in a purely left wing fashion. That would be a hoot too!

Just a lot of old friends and friends of friends who needed jobs. Bush, Clinton and the rest of the admin's always do this. Obama was more left then most democrats so it is not so surprising. The actual surprise is his banking friends and his continuance of unfavorable Bush policies.
It is clearly a one party system. We need a couple more new party's to shake things up.

Obama's use of czars is not unprecedented or even uncommon. I will have to agree at least marginally with this list's general theme, which to me seems to amount to: Theyr all a bunch of progressive radical commies. Because I don't think anyone can discount the past some of these individuals have led.

However, the list tries to make it seem as though Obama hired a bunch of czars as part of a concerted effort to take over and change the country, which isn't honest. Also, keep in mind that they are not actually "czars", that is a name used for expediency (most often by the media) and sometimes the gov refers to them as czars as well (again, for expediency). Really though, a czar is just a broad title given to various presidential advisers, assistants, office directors, special envoys and deputy secretaries. (After all, what makes for a better headline – "weapons czar" or "undersecretary of defense for acquisition, technology and logistics"?).

This list orriginated on Glenn Beck's show, and here are some counter points that point out how Bush created many if not most of these positions during his time as President.

Anyways, some of them were confirmed by congress, many of them already existed under Bush, some were appointed by existing government agencies (like the EPA), and Obama added a few for things that were not needed untill now (such as recovery Guantanamo Closure Czar, etc etc)

Nine were confirmed by the Senate, including the director of national intelligence ("intelligence czar"), the chief performance officer ("government performance czar") and the deputy interior secretary ("California water czar").
Eight more were not appointed by the president – the special advisor to the EPA overseeing its Great Lakes restoration plan ("Great Lakes czar") is EPA-appointed, for instance, and the assistant secretary for international affairs and special representative for border affairs ("border czar") is appointed by the secretary of homeland security.
Fifteen of the "czarships" Beck lists, including seven that are in neither of the above categories, were created by previous administrations. (In some cases, as with the "economic czar," the actual title – in this case, chairman of the president’s economic recovery advisory board – is new, but there has been an official overseeing the area in past administrations. In others, as with the special envoy to Sudan, the position is old but the "czar" appellation is new.)
In all, of the 32 positions in Beck’s list, only eight are Obama-appointed, unconfirmed, brand new czars.

It seems Obama and Bush both have near 40, whereas clinton, regan, Bush's dad etc only had about 1 or 2. FDR had 12.

Yeah, that's the ticket. Get some big ass New Yorker and call it CzarBomba! Have him run the joint like the chef from Hell's Kitchen.

Hell, that may be a good idea anyway. Do a Hell's Congress. Whip those assholes into shape in no time!

Imagine some guy ripping some junior senator to shreds for voting on some dumb ass piece of legislation. Do a special where they have to balance the budget or get SENT HOME!

I mean its 2010, reality tv is //hot. Lets do a reality show where they follow around congresmen everywhere, like to their meetings wih lobbyists and even follow them to their escapades with male prostitutes right before they sign an anti-gay bill. I think a camera crew following around congress would be a bigger hit than the sopranos. Make a movie even, i mean the godfather did great and so did scarface, people love mob stories.

That's a great idea but I think by the time mainstream okayed it would not be reality anymore.

I don't know where else to put this, not going to start a new thread, just thought I'd mention that the neighborhood where my office is in downtown Seattle is swarming with Secret Service at the moment. Aparently the Big Chief is meeting with the owners of the coffee shop/bakery across the street from my office and giving some talks to the media and onlookers. I bet the usual throngs of crackheads and bums have mysteriously disappeared for the next few hours.... I'm gonna go outside and check it out. I brought a turkey sandwich to eat for lunch today, should I throw it at the President instead? Watch for me on the news tonight.

And didn't you know that it's standard practice to dissapear all of the vagrants in the area whenever the king comes out to survey his kingdom? lolololol.

Since when is it standard practice for the Commander in Chief to make a presidential visit to a COFFEE SHOP (and bakery)? Way to swoop in and give an inspirational speach to some highschool dropouts. He landed at Boeing Airfield and literally drove right past Boeing and Amazon.com to visit the worst cafe in my work neighborhood. WTF? Maybe the stoners in there were inspired enough to make a cup of coffee in under 15 minutes for once. (in the words of my good friend who responded via text message to that exact comment: "I thought Islams drank tea". LOL)

Lol, it's part of the election year fundraising stuff. He is trying to gain support for candidates and give inspiring talks so he can get more public exposure prior to the elections. It's what they always do. That's why everyone was pissed when he shut down an entire city so he could go to a little market and buy "arugula" because he said he prefered it from there lololool.

We had the same problem recently in Los Angeles.

Senator Patty Murray. The one cool thing that came of this is that a tiny sea plane flew into Seattle airspace and some F15s were scrambled from Portland (oddly enough) which is 180 miles away. Those ****ers got here so fast that two sonic booms were heard all over Western Washington. I bet it took them like 5 minutes.
