Discussion: How long do you think it will be untill WWIII kicks off? I think there is some major tensions building up and we may see it in our lifetimes. Especially with the world economies collapsing, this is like a perfect storm for a world war.

Do you think we will pull on through to the other side? Or do you think that economies around the world dying, a surpluss of military aged males, and years of tension between multiple countries from around the world will inevitably boil down to another world war.

It will be interesting to watch play out, if Iran does acquire nukes before the next presidential election, then I'd almost guarantee an Obama defeat. "Democracies" tire of wars rather quickly, but as resources become scarce there will be more conflict for whatever motives can be made up. There isn't an anti-west coalition strong enough or balanced enough to create a world war at this point, at most you'd see the west versus China with Russia who knows where?

If you look at the human species from the perspective of an ecologist or an evolutionary biologist, it seems pretty clear that conditions are ripe for a die-off event. War, massive famine, natural disasters, pandemic, or all of the above -- take your pick.

Lol, yah but they can't do anything. If anything south Korea will go rough em up for us. Of all the countries that pose no real threat to us, N Korea probably takes the cake.

The Norks are all bluster. If they launched an attack on the south they'd have to live off the land, which admittedly would be better than what Nork rations are probably like. Have a feeling that the biggest problem the south would see is what the hell to do with several million surrendering North Korean soldiers. They might cause a lot of damage with their artillery at first, assuming they have working ammo and the guns aren't rusted crap, but they would be slaughtered wholesale when they crossed the DMZ.
