    Activist Arrested

    http://www.dtnprogressivefarmer.com/...logRegionCode=

"The arson at the Sheepskin Factory in Denver was done in defense and retaliation for all the innocent animals that have died cruelly at the hands of human oppressors. Be warned that making a living from the use and abuse of animals will not be tolerated. Also be warned that leather is every bit as evil as fur. As demonstrated in my recent arson against the Leather Factory in Salt Lake City. Go vegan! -- ALF Lone Wolf"

Moreover, some fringe activists have no qualms about taking human lives to save animal lives. When the homes of University of California biologists were firebombed in 2008, one activist remarked that "It's regrettable that certain scientists are willing to put their families at risk by choosing to do wasteful animal experiments."

A psychiatrist might convincingly explain why people follow their beliefs to such extremes. I can't. I wonder if it's related to the breakdown of community in an urbanized world. I have to think people who live in a village where they know everybody would be less likely to resort to terrorism.

Or maybe it's a way for a little man to feel big. It's hard for one person to alter the course of history in a slow-moving and messy political system where competing voices might win the debate. But one man with enough bombs might force change through intimidation -- and go down in history, for better or worse.

That's just armchair speculation, of course. Yet when the psychiatrists come up with better theories, I suspect they'll have something in common with mine. The psychiatrists won't analyze whether the activists' cause was right or wrong; they'll treat the activists as dangerously unbalanced people. They'll distinguish between the extremists and the many other animal-rights advocates -- a majority, even -- who feel as strongly as the ALFites about the treatment of animals but pursue their goals through political persuasion, not intimidation.

Stratfor's Stewart worries that the schism between animal-rights moderates and violent activists is widening. The result, he fears, will be that "any moderating influence on the radicals will also be removed, and the lack of this influence will result in the more radical elements becoming even more violent."

If Stewart is right, more attacks on property and maybe even people are coming. Those who work with animals must, alas, "be warned."

What about the Dude they killed today at Discovery Channel headquarters. He was spurred on by some book then saw algore's classic "an inconvenient truth" and decided we humans are at fault and the discovery family of Channels were also responsible for showing documentaries on breeeders like kate goesseling. So he held people hostage and got shot.....Dead. Freaks abound.....

back in the day we had a name for these kind of people. stupid morons.

but really, my theory is some people starting off a little crazy in the first place. then some of those people don't have anything worthwhile to believe in. i guess some could argue the point but everyone needs something they would fight for and die for if need be.

Used to be people had religion and or country but younger people have been taught (or learned in certain cases) those are a dumb and a waste. So what are they left with? One nut today figured what was on TV was good for fighting and dying for. The "Sheepskin Factory" moron figured leather was evil. He should get tats on his face and should burn everything. A long time ago and still in some places eating was/is worth fighting and dying for.

My 85 year old dad thinks the government was worth fighting for. Me, in my lifetime i have watched the government lie, cheat, kill and steal. But I believe in and would die for Jesus. If that was taken away from me then i might fight and die to get them to bring back the tv show "my name is earl". It really pisses me off that they took that off the air.

He did it because the Discovery Channel has gone from shows about nature to
            American Chopper.

I was waiting and wondering if the Dicovery nut would be mentioned. The cops took him out. These people are nuts. He was a Gore devotee from what I read.

When I saw this story on the news yesterday I thought to myself, "Why don't they just shoot this left-wing nut job and be done with it".

Then after I got to work, I saw that they did. One less moron to deal with.

Not to look like I am defending this individual.

I do agree with animal based clinical testing for diseases and such to come up with cures for humans
but I really never liked the wide use of animal testing for products. When activists go after these types of places that need to test a 1000 rabbits to see if a their household shampoo will blind or scar then I have absolutely no problem with it.

I could agree with that. MTV no longer plays music. TLC rarely plays anything educational. Everything is going the way of reality TV. It's cheap production. It needs to end. But I'm not gonna go into Rambo First Blood mode over it. There is a remote control you know.

It's the agenda of dumbing down. And it works.

I barely know what is going on anymore with TV or popular culture, but the ladies in the house are always watching some horrible porn/gangster/mongoloid people/ reality type thing on VH1 these days.

When did VH1 change from the last place for good videos to this crap??
