Call me negative or sadistic, but a part of me really wants to see all of technology come crashing down just to watch the ensuing chaos and suffering. Find an App for that you F*$%ers!

There is a natural order to things, as we can observe all around us. The universe, for whatever reason, seeks balance at all times. If we get too far out of pocket, the universe will put us back in line. After Egypt fell, the technology they had for building pyramids etc was lost to the ages, and only nowadays can we make such huge structures again. Someday they will fall, and it may be a long time again untill the next group starts rebuilding. In the end, nature will take care of it, and humans will go on evolving along with everything else. This kind of shit is why I don't worry about cancer and gladly add MSG to my food. I already have the privaledge of living in one of the most interesting times in human existence, even if it only be for a few years. What more could I ask for?

The pyramids predate the ancient Egyptians, and we cannot reproduce them today with the materials they had then.

It is obvious that you have no understanding of mental health. As someone that has lived with a mental health problem for the past seven years, if only it was as simple as looking at his eyes. It is a fact that in the UK you are far more likely to be attacked if you have a mental health problem than you are to attack someone else, and 1 in 4 people in their lifetime will experience a mental health problem.

Not saying this person was mentally ill, not saying he wasn't. Just think that it would be ignorant to simplify it.

I used to believe this too, but there is actually no evidence supporting it. What is odd, is that the first pyramid seemed to be the best, and they kind of got worse and worse at building them over time. Look at the sphynx, when they altered the original lion head to look like a pharao, they didn't do a great job.

And furthermore, in the first pyramid there is no writing or hyrogliphics anywhere, yet on the second one we find the famous "pyramid texts" (the oldest religious document known to man). Why did they suddenly decide to start writing all over the walls? And why did they introduce a religious text into the second one, but not the first one? Is it because they didn't have a solid enough written language?

I find it odd that they were able to understand such advanced mathematics, astronomy, and engineering at a time where written language had literally just been invented. How is it that the first major empire became so advanced so quickly? Is it a testement to human enginuity, or something else? Who knows.
And how did they get it spot on on their first try? They say it took something like 50 years to build the first great pyramid in Giza. Kind of amazing that they got it right on the first try, and didn't spend years building only to realize the math was off and then tear it down and rebuild it. Such engineering masterpieces as the pyramids being created at such an early time in human history is probably the most amazing concept I have ever ran across in human history. Whether it was something cool like aliens, or whether it was just humans learning calculus at the same time that they learned to read, it was an amazing feat none the less.

CEASE FIRE! First, my statement was made tongue-in-cheek. And yes, I have quite an understanding of mental health. I spent several years in the medical field as a paramedic. I am on a Certified Crisis Intervention Team. Work with the public on a daily basis handling those with suicidal ideation as well as those who are actively violent/dangerous due to their mental illness. I also hold certifications in kinesics and behavior.

I know first hand that some people have the classic "empty stare" which is what I have seen from a few photos of this individual. He may not have appeared that way everyday, but those photos were more than likely taken during episodes of psychosis or manic phases. I deal with other people however, who when taking their prescriptions as prescribed, appear very normal and you would never know any different.

But I think when you study this individual's behavior and past, you can see that he was experiencing delusions of grandeur, paranoia, and was more than likely schizophrenic. As was the murderer of Dimebag Darrell, who thought the band members were inside his head laughing at him, so he later stormed their stage and opened fire taking a hostage. Not that all schizophrenics are murderers, but if not treated and medicated properly, they can easily become a danger to themselves and others.

If you took offense to my tongue-in-cheek comment then I apologize, but if you spend enough time around here at Snuson, I think you will find a lot of our remarks are done in the same manner and are not meant to be inflammatory, nor derogatory (usually).

The cable channels have turned to shit.

What was a History channel is now a channel about fictitious UFO history.
Tru TV is a crock also. Discovery is a sham, Man vs Wild.

The new lineup for these once educational channels is Pawn Stars,
Dog the Bounty Hunter, Gangland, LA Ink, Snooki the brain dead bitch.
                      Just to mention a few....

I remember when MTV was Music TeleVision, then it turned to shit and they made MTV2, now even it rarely shows a music video.
I remember when the History Channel showed shows about history.
I remember when A & E meant Arts and Entertainment, now its Anuses and Excrement... I mean how many reruns of Law and Order can one watch anyway?

But even though tv sucks, I remember that it always has. Well except maybe when we had the Dukes of Hazard... those Duke boys and that magik car... now thats sum innertainmint.

But I have yet to get my gun out to do anything about it. I haven't given any thought to taking a hostage yet, I haven't even really gotten all that mad about it... Do you think if I shoot enough people I can get VH1 to bring back the PopUP Video show (you know the show with the pop up bubbles with all kinds of cool facts you never needed to know and will forget five minutes later anyway) nah... its just not worth worrying about. I mean they might not get VH1 in prison, and then all my changing would be for naught.

Sigh... the good ol days.... We are livin' em

All this talk about the way TV used to be is kind of depressing. Let's not forget Comedy Central. It used to be a great channel for stand-up comedy and other things comedy (like the Man Show). It seems like everytime I turn on Comedy Central now it's like a "Scrubs" marathon, or Napoleon Dynamite for the 532nd time. I don't care what people say, that movie is not funny. What the hell!?

A&E used to be one of my favorites too. You know I don't even have cable or satellite anymore. I don't watch enough TV to justify the cost. I just have a digital converter box and one of those prehistoric looking TV's that weighs about 200 lbs. I'm happy with my local stations, Fox, and PBS. The only time I get see all the worthless satellite channels is when I'm at work typing.
