I am still amazed by the nuclear pyramid. I was trying to explain this to the wife yesterday, and she thinks it's crazy, and it was just a tomb.

They'd say, "our experiment has been a total failure. Let's liquidate this bunch, and start again".

I dont think they will ever invite us into the intergalactic society within our lifetimes. We pretty much all hate each-other and have been not so kind to mother earth.

Well since this was the natural progression of things, what makes you think it would be any different anywhere else? As far as we know, intelligent life leads to war and conflict and hogging of resources. I doubt aliens would be any different. That's like tribespeople that have never seen technology, if the americans come, maybe they assume we are so much mroe advanced and therefore peacefull and perfect (which couldnt be further from the truth). When dominant cultures stumble across a less advanced culcture, it's usually bad news for the less advanced. That's likely how an alien visit would play out. I doubt they traveled all the way here for our benefit.

That definately could be the way the first contact goes down but you are also thinking from a human perspective. Maybe just being human with all of it's bad and good is our own special "dna" compared to other beings in space.
Some beings might be all about resources and no emotion but pure survival, and others more focused on preserving what "is", like we do with our lowers on the food chain. (animals).

I am hoping for the second type of Aliens.

Truthwolf, years of sci-fi movies have proven to me without a doubt that aliens are here for 1 thing. War. That is what I am sticking with

I like how it played out in Larry niven's "Man-Kzin wars", aliens came to take over earth, but didn't do their homework because it turns out that humans have spent their entire existance at war and have refined it down to an art.

Or it could end up like this scenario. The bad aliens drop their slave ship on us and we have to deal with it.

That is pretty crazy, but there are witnesses who were in and heard multiple explosions in the bottom of the buildings. A underground nuke would of been felt on everyone's toe's, you would think? How could that of been isolated to just a building?

NIST however never mentioned anything about the pools of molten steel that were under each building. If what the firefighters said was true that they could of easily taken out the fires then I am leaning more towards the nano- thermite cutter charges.

It would be interesting to know if any of the steel actually vaporized but we never will thanks to Guiliani.
