But if we get the jobs back here I believe we're setting up for a brighter economic future after the initial (and inevitable imo) devastating effects..... We will create the opportunity for lasting growth and the ability to sustain as a strong economy for many years to come.

Absolutely, during the great depression we were in a similar position. We got out of it by the war, but mainly by becoming the manufacturing capital of the world. Americans went to work and made shit. This is how we can save ourselves again if we want.

The question is, will they be willing to do that themselves (capitalism) or will the government need to step in and dictate wages (communism)? Personally unless some drastic measures/laws are passed, the high tier businessmen will do everything to keep their inflated salaries.

Government setting wages has NEVER worked any better though. I agree completely with what your saying about how CEO's will always be out to get money, but the government setting price controlls or wage caps has always failed miserably and I doubt it would be any different this time.

I am sure this forum has already been tucked away someplace for blackmail when the time comes.

I can't get with that. The income tax was only 1% when it was first enacted. We see how well that turned out.

I would eliminate the electoral college and change to a popular vote by state. Each state would stand alone based only on it's own popular vote, then overall whomever won the most states wins.

I agree, we need to be more creative. If we have a new government we want it to develop trust, not hatred.

But I don't believe capitalistic pressures will cause CEOs to want to drop their incomes without first purging as many jobs as possible.

Technology has eliminated the need for having large payrolls at factories. It's not as easy as having another WWII (unless you count another draft employing the 15+% unemployed/underemployed)

Your right, we can't allow gov to have control to force it on companies because that will stifle growth, make our businessmen move elsewhere, and will stop the flow of investment money. If we let the market (capitalism) dictate it, nothing will change because CEO's will always be making more money than you do. They will NOT take a pay cut. So can't force them, and can't expect them to do it on their own = F***

I really don't know. This is a problem that has existed since trade was first invented. No matter how you organize society or government, the majority of the resources will always end up in the hands of a few, and the masses will go wanting. Never in history was it any different.
