Stimulis: 2 million $ per job. 55 jobs created in total

Los Angeles recieved $111 million in stimulis money from Obama. Like everywere else in the country, it has accomplished no noticeable change in job creation, and for the most part has been a complete and utter waste.

"I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," says Wendy Greuel, the city's controller, while releasing an audit report.

According to the report, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works generated only 45 jobs after receiving $70.65 million, while the target was 238 jobs.

Similarly, the city’s department of transportation, armed with a $40.8 million fund, created only 9 jobs in place of an expected 26 jobs.

The irony here is not just that they spent 2 million $ per job, 111 million to create 55 jobs, but rather that their orriginal target was to only create 264 jobs. Their best estimate was that with $111 million they hoped to employ 264 peope, AND THEY FELL SHORT OF EVEN THAT!

God, of all the failed policies of the past, from the federal reserve to the many wars, to all kinds of other nonesense, I think this stimulis bill goes down in history as the biggest waste of taxpayer money of all time.

There is apparently a lot of money in somebody's pocket, now. I guarantee that the $111 million did not go to the 55 new job holders.

No, most stimulis jobs are part time and under $40k a year jobs. Obama's administration and our government in general is so filled with bureaucracy that it takes 2 million dollars to employ a guy making $30k a year digging ditches. I don't see how the Obama admin didn't think this was going to happen. When you have big government, everything gets more expensive because of all the red tape and bureaucracy involved with big government.
