Was Iran's Nuclear Plant Attacked by Powerful Malware?

There has been a delay in startup. I wonder if this is the cause?

Stuxnet malware is 'weapon' out to destroy ... Iran's Bushehr nuclear plant?

By Mark Clayton Mark Clayton Tue Sep 21, 3:08 pm ET
Cyber security experts say they have identified the world's first known cyber super weapon designed specifically to destroy a real-world target – a factory, a refinery, or just maybe a nuclear power plant.

The cyber worm, called Stuxnet, has been the object of intense study since its detection in June. As more has become known about it, alarm about its capabilities and purpose have grown. Some top cyber security experts now say Stuxnet's arrival heralds something blindingly new: a cyber weapon created to cross from the digital realm to the physical world – to destroy something.

At least one expert who has extensively studied the malicious software, or malware, suggests Stuxnet may have already attacked its target – and that it may have been Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant, which much of the world condemns as a nuclear weapons threat.

The appearance of Stuxnet created a ripple of amazement among computer security experts. Too large, too encrypted, too complex to be immediately understood, it employed amazing new tricks, like taking control of a computer system without the user taking any action or clicking any button other than inserting an infected memory stick. Experts say it took a massive expenditure of time, money, and software engineering talent to identify and exploit such vulnerabilities in industrial control software systems.

Unlike most malware, Stuxnet is not intended to help someone make money or steal proprietary data. Industrial control systems experts now have concluded, after nearly four months spent reverse engineering Stuxnet, that the world faces a new breed of malware that could become a template for attackers wishing to launch digital strikes at physical targets worldwide.

This is what I assumed governments had been working on at some point. With the digital age upon us, the easiest and collateral-damage free way to mess something up is with some kind of virus. Why bomb a nuke facility when you can just hack it and shut it down or make it melt down? Plus, places like Iran aren't up to speed enough to be able to combat it. It could be used on a place like this nuke facility and then blamed on rogue hackers, no one would have to take credit for it and it would be hard to prove where it came from. The perfect weapon.

It can hit the US computers too, if an "enemy" made a good one.

It would be funny if it was the Russians. They build Iran a nuke plant, only to turn around and damage/destroy it!

Why do you assume it was the jews? I understand how they would want this, but there is 0 evidence that any of this had to do with israel. Most countries do not like Iran right now, and the entire UN is against them. It could be anyone, and was more likely us.

How does Mossad become "the Jews"? Was Seinfeld and Mel Brooks behind this?

Well maybe this whole business by defining Israel as a Jewish state for Jews had something to do with it...

I thought Israel was solely a Jewish state, right? They are racists that don't let anyone join their zionist regime, therefore they are jews, no? They are a nation of jews, governed by jews, with an all jewish intelligence service, Mossad being Jewish <--- I think it is safe to call them jews.

If America were all one race, governed by one race, and with an intelligence service operated by said race, I think it would be okay to refer to them as that race, right?

I still think we should of been in Iran, not the Russians in helping create a alternative energy source.
Israel wants to stay on top of the region which I can understand but this will eventually cause a massive war.

Maybe? good! then they can blow eachother up and we will not have to deal with as many Zionist's or Muslim extremist's.
