None in the city, but if you go out in areas where it's basically empty they are around.

We get a lot of these in the log cabin of the hunting camp I go to in New York state. Never had them in my house though.

We're also dealing with these bugs here in Tennessee. I've probably caught two dozen or more around my place in the last week or two. This is the first year that I can remember ever having to deal with these bugs like this. Let's hope the fall/winter gets rid of them once the cold weather gets here.

About 30 years ago, I was barbecuing at my mother's and as I was tending to the meat on the grill, I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked down to see a rattlesnake crawling slowly over my left foot. I froze. It then continued to cross over my right foot. I was frozen for what seemed like an eternity. It finally completed its journey across my feet and continued on across the grass. Whew!

Another time, I had to kill a water moccasin (aka cottonmouth) with a garden hoe, as it was attacking a toddler who was in one of those roll around strollers.

I have seen many other poisonous snakes, but those were the only ones that ever gave me any trouble.

Oh, also, I haven't seen any stink bugs around, but for the last few weeks, my house has been infested with some tiny flying insects that look like fleas. But, fleas dont fly, so they must be something else. My wife thinks they are fruit flies, but I think they are something else. They are larger than what I call gnats, but not by much.

I guess that is what they are, then. We have been buying bananas often for my son.

I finally smelled one of these guys today! It really isn't so bad. It smells like a mix of lemon and orange peel. The problem is the quantity. The scent is very cutting, and if you got too much on you, it would be way irritating. In very small quantities it wouldn't be a half bad snuff scent. Try new Toque Stink Bug snuff! :^D

I live in West Virginia and stink bugs are aplenty here too. These look like shields also. This little warm snap is probably whats making them so plentiful.
