    Vicodin blues

As many of you know I had some med problems with my colon and also a herniated disk. They gave me a script for vicodin well a few.. I'm out now and Im freakin the craving the crap. My leg still hurts and it helps. I'm tempted to call in a refill in the am.. Part of me is saying no because it's just going to be a downward spiral. I'll finish the next refill and keep wanting more and more. A damn drink would help but with the medicine I'm taking I can't... I was taking 5mg and now have to take three at a time.. Anyone ever deal with this? I don't want to be an addict..

It's tough, I took it for a year for nerve pain after back surgery and it's very hard to stop. I took 1 to 3 a day mostly during work, and I'd still take it if it wasn't so frowned upon by the docs etc because it helps with my pain. there's a reason this country is under-medicated for pain, however.

The pain relief is awesome.. I didn't figure it would make life euphoric though lol.. I was actually happy to be at work smilin all the time.. Too good to be true. It's just a downhill slope where I'd just have to take more and more till it rips my liver.

That's the kicker, they could sell it without the tylenol/aceteminophin and it wouldn't harm your liver. There are people who spiral into it because the body adjusts over time and it takes more and more, but that's true of anything physically addictive.

That is true... And after watching a few episodes of cops just now with guys having pill crushers snortin the crap.. Looking like they haven't taken a shower in weeks scares me. I'll just stick to it when I need it.. It's been 48 hours since I ran out.

Ive had a full on opiate/herion addiction. I would go to the doctor in the morning and fake a pain to get 60 vicodin just so I could function later in the day to get something stronger. If I were you, and I were in pain, I would be very careful abou taking them. They are very addictive and if you use them moderatly you should be okay. Try giving the script to your girlfriend/wife and have her hold on to them and only take what is needed when your pain is severe. If you just keep taking them as you like to feel good you will be in a lot of hurt and sickness, yes opiate withdraw sucks ****in ass, even for vicodin users. Go for moderation.

I googled it, it seems very interesting.. Wonder if any of the local shops carry it so I could give it a whirl.. I'm allways up for new things especially natural..

thanks for the advice bro.. Yeah even just after a couple months I'm jittery right now, anxious.. I don't want to get deeper. I got a two year old son and wife, they don't need it. Props to you for getting over it. I need to be hypnotized to enjoy work lol.. I just gotta keep it in moderation like you said.

Under prescribed; my cousin broke his toe and they gave him 20 vicodin, his mom made him throw them away after two he liked them quite a bit. I got some demoral after and didn't even bother taking it, I was like the stuff just makes me sleepy, of course not taking it made me not sleep at night because my jaw felt weird so I probably should have taken it.

I'm actually happy vicodin does nothing positive for me. All the opiate based painkillers, really. They just make me itchy and hot, and then I can't take a crap for a couple days. Same with when I was on Oxy. Only gave me minimal pain relief, and then the bad side effects kicked in strong. Makes me glad, though, as I know I'm not about to get hooked on them any time soon. I'd rather just deal with the pain most of the time.
