Damn Dog, you've foiled my plan! This thread was created as a distraction from what's REALLY going on.

/And I wouldn't have gotten away with it if it wasn't for you darn kids!

How many of you believe the Apollo Program was a hoax?

It's a good song at the very least

Imagine all the things going on that we don't even have conspiracy theories for yet! I look at them like Apple rumors; they get out there, Apple denies them, then reveals them at their next get together. I think there is some truth to most of the ones that haven't been proven yet, but what is that truth. Do we really want to know?

I don't think for a second the Apollo Program was a hoax. Too much came of it for it to have been fake. We spent lots of money and came up with some very real technologies that have vastly improved the number of cool products available in the consumer market. There is no reason we couldn't have gone and we have a lander and a mirror up there to prove it. We brought back lots of moon rocks and even took video (though the video is contested by some).

It's just that sending someone to the moon is not actually that difficult to do. It just took willpower and some funding. We had astonauts who volunteered to strap a rocket to their ass and fly there and we had the full force of the US government and public support behind the project. I just don't see why we wouldn't have gone.

Lack of critical thinking skills. Our education system doesn't teach people to think. Our education system is more concerned with people memorizing facts so they can pass tests. Conspiracy theories provide ready made anwers so people don't have to think.

Excellent thread. I'm believing more and more of these all the time. I think there's something fishy brewing w/ the whole UFO thing. I do think that there are other, very real, life forms out there and perhaps they have been to Earth but there's something sinister that I think we'll see in our lifetime that we might perceive to be different than it really is.

There's conspiracies with our food systems too. I'm convinced of that.

Is there a conspiracy with snus too? I believe there is one with smoking...and the medical industry.

I want a pet dwarf giraffe like that Russian guy in the Direct TV commercial.

                            Lol. Don't answer that!

Justin, do you not believe in the manhattN project, in us overthrowing other governments or in our financing of revolutions via drug sales? Do you believe the magic bullet theory in JFK, and do you deny that the government admits to most of the things I listed?

It's easy to make fun of people Justin, but being stupid can sometimes mean looking at something and pretending it's not there. You are in a sense being stupid because all of these things happen yet you seem to deny that they did? I understand what you are saying, but my point was that conspiracies exist because they brought it on themselves, the gov has created an atmosphere that makes people not want to trust them. Some conspiracies are just wild speculation but some are legitimate events that in retrospect quite obviously happened.

On a related note, when I got off work today my wifes coworker showed us a video he took on his iPhone of a UFO that was at his house this weekend. It is pretty clear footage of what appears to be a house sized UFO floating above his house, then tilting left and right. A sma orb is floating around it and eventually goes towards the ship and melts into it or passed through it into the inside or something. Then it just bursts up into the air at an amazingly fast speed. His whole neighborhood saw it and it was literally right above his roof and made no noise at all. I'm gonna try to get him to email the video so I can post it.

I'm telling you, something is going on.

                                A huge + 1 on that.

I tend to think that the 'conspiracy' theorists are the one more apt to abstract, relative, thinking than the majority of the population. When you REALLY look at some of the theories a lot of them come together absolutely perfectly. 9/11 for example. If you REALLY research it, i don't see how people can completely accept what the government has told us about it. There are so many variables that they ignore or try and explain away with nonsense.
