Exactly, wow yahoo answers as a reference. That is so shocking and appalling to me. At this rate people will be using the Onion and Mad Magazine as part of their research papers works cited page!
Just an example of how clueless medical professionals are with snus, my dad is in the hospital and he smokes 3 packs per day so naturally he kept bugging them about smoking. The RN said, "You need to quit, it's killing you" and then she said to us, "You guys need to quit too." I said, "I quit 17 months ago" and my dad said, "Yeah he's a snuser now" to which the RN said, "OMG that's worse than cigarettes, snus gives you lung cancer twice as fast, you have to stop that now!" LOL I told her I had done my research and was practicing "Harm Reduction". She laughed and said, "There is no such thing, the tobacco companies make that up to keep you hooked." and asked if I wanted information to help me quit, to which I replied, "No thanks, I am not ready to quit yet." Idiots.

yeah, as far as the pancreatic cancer goes I have heard that smokers have 5 times the rate cancer as non smokers. So even if it is doubled by snus, you are still far safer to use snus than smoke.
Actually, the numbers were something like 3.9 per 100k for never smokers, 8.8/100k for snus users and 13/100k for smokers from the Karlinska Institute study for pancreatic cancer. They found no correlation between snus use and lung cancer or mouth cancer. I think the study is over 20 years old, before the anti-smoking/nicotine/tobacco industry changed their definition of statistical significance in epidemiology to fit their ideology.
Now they can find statistical significance in whatever they study. Talk about the tobacco industry propaganda.....
