    Exactly.

It's like when I hear "so-and-so died aged 84 of a smoking related illness" I can't help thinking, 84? Sure it wasn't just the fact they were 84, because that's pretty old, regardless of whether you smoked.

My Grandad died at 64 of a stroke. He was a fit strong man who worked in construction. Didn't smoke, drank in moderation. He got unlucky. If he had smoked, then you can guarantee it would gone down as a smoking related death.

It was the sand I couldn't deal with. Just to dry and gritty. No flavor at all.

Everything harms you quickly. Do you know what guarantees death, 100% of the time? Being born.

Yeah - but smoking directly damages your DNA which is never a good thing. Those little fellas need to zip up quite a few times and they need to zip up perfectly every time - or you get cancer.

From a technical standpoint we all have cancerous cells in our bodies, but our white blood cells and immune system keep in check. Honestly, the health care field has known that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are in the blood stream right after smoking as well as CO and nicotine. Smoking is a hyper-efficient form of nicotine delivery because your lungs are essentially re-fueling stations for your red blood cells and as such the nicotine is delivered in no time at all....this is no new news for anyone. Although it is a face palm for basically anyone who actually understands what is happening and gets past the rhetoric...
