Mine are getting better since I quit smoking. I had some teeth getting loose - they aren't loose any more. Might be coincidence? No idea.
You do know about the possible link between alcohol based mouth washes and cancer, no?

No, I'm talking about how it's easier for me to worry about snus rather than cigarettes due to the fact that I'm able to see and feel the tobacco directly on my gums, whereas with smoking you just inhaled and exhaled, not "seeing" the damage being done. That's why I'm so paranoid to see some gum recession etc...but like I said if I notice any change with my gums then I'll find the source, and stop snussing if it caused the problem.

i doubt snusing WILL cause major gum issues.

I've recently started going to the gym several times a week and eating healthy for the first time in my life. I'm not severely out of shape or overweight, just not in shape. I've noticed that I use less snus than I did before. I also use regular portions now with the occasional sterk/extra sterk as opposed to sterks all day. It's pretty crazy how fast this all happened too. I just started doing this about a month or 2 ago and already cannot tolerate chain sterks. Pretty interesting stuff.

I didn't quit smoking for health reasons I just like snus better. The health benefits are just a plus.

I quit smoking due to health reasons. I chose snus due to the fact that everything I had tried before failed me. Cancer runs in the family so quitting for me is very personal. I agree, I think you are being a little bit paranoid about the "health risk" with snus. The Sweds have studied this stuff for years and years...I feel so confident in those studies I have a bet with my close friend that when and IF I get any form of cancer directly related from snus, I would give him $500. I used to be able to run for miles, then I started to smoke. Then I couldn't go any further than down the road maybe 6-10 houses down. Since I have quit smoking and just use snus...I can run again.

Paranoia is for wussies. You have a better chance of getting cancer from, well just living. The things we CHOOSE to do to ourselfs can possibly increase the risk of getting it.

you'll probably see more negative effects from stressing out about it than snus itself. when i dipped i would look at my gums and lip 20 times a day and would freak out if anything seemed abnormal. i don't worry about sheet with snus besides the fact that i can't get scruf extra sterk. does anyone play sports or exercise with snus in? I usually put one in for the first half of soccer games to settle into the game and relax.

I sometimes wonder whether googling "oral cancer and snus" might turn up more hits if I typed it in Swedish not Englsih...
