Everybody are talking about bad health

    Hello,

Almost all over this forum is see people are talking about they changed to snus from cigarettes bacause off cancer, black lungs and so on..

The reason i changed to snus is not because the fear of cancer like many people, but because im a sportsman and cant run/skate and so at professional level while smoking.

So i decided to quit and change to snus ONLY because of sports.

But i have never read at this forum that anyone have done sports in many years using snus, and can't feel any differnce about condition.

I would be very happy if i just saw ONE line or something at this forum that snus dont hurt your condition at all! (while cigs hurt it terrible much)

Well using snus instead of smoking has made my breathing better and i now feel spurred on to do some sort of sport. There are some famous sportsmen and women that use snus:

I've thrown up under heavy exertion due to snus. I have to take it easy if I'm gonna be putting a lot of effort into something.

I recently have been easing back into running..... i am up to 2 miles a day and while I don't run with a snus in I wouldn't be able to do it if I still smoked.

Not sure if this helps, but snus was part of me quitting smoking now for 6 months. I have decided to take the momentum of not smoking and I am now training to do a triathlon, never done one and always wanted to. Now because of nicotine's effect on blood pressure I wouldn't advise using it while competing in such an endurance event, but otherwise, I never would have gotten this far along if still smoking. I work out six days a week, alternating running, cycling, swimming, and do strength training circuits as well. I hope to enter my first triathlon next spring. Waiting that long as the fact is I have kids and a full time job and there are limits. Plus I need to save up for a good bike for the cycling leg.

They cant beat us down... Here is some of it..

"his study examined the relationships among physical fitness, exercise activity, and both cigarette smoking and smokeless tobacco use among 2,800 United States Navy men. Subgrouping individuals according to their self-reported use of tobacco resulted in maximum sample sizes of 1,406 nonusers, 161 smokeless tobacco users, and 1,233 cigarette smokers, although these numbers were reduced to 975 smokers, 115 smokeless tobacco users, and 825 cigarette smokers in some analyses due to random missing data in the physical fitness measures. Smoking was negatively related to exercise activity. After controlling for exercise effects, smoking still was associated with lower physical endurance, both cardiorespiratory (1.5-mile run) and muscular (sit-ups and push-ups). Smoking was not associated with overall body strength or percent body fat after controlling for exercise activity. In striking contrast, smokeless tobacco use was not significantly correlated with exercise levels or with any of the physical fitness measures after controlling for exercise activity. "

Thanks, a ways to go, but the journey is fun. The cycling work has surprised me at how difficult it started out as, just a completely different muscle group than running.

Regardless of the health issues the best reason to use.Snus is that is one the most fun and easy way to use tobacco.

I quit smoking 4 months ago by using this wonderful product, but I get palpitations and start dry reaching at the mere thought of strenuous exercise.

im dont even care what the expert say about using snus because everyone is different and tolerates snus differently

what i can say though.. and its visible... snus makes you feel weak ... if you chain snus like i used to... even one day with any form of tobacco makes me feel a lot more energic...

anyway this past week ive been using at most 3 portions of snus per day and ill probably quit some time soon
