Well with a lot of that medication you should abstain from alcohol completely - maybe that's why you didn't get on with the SSRIs. Alcohol is a depressant as far as i'm aware.

Might not be a good idea depending on your general view of this community, if anything it might actually help you to stay and or go back to using snus. I mean, if you stick to your word and just use this thread and forum simply as support towards quitting the snus, then I guess that might work, but with all these reviews, threads expressing love for a particular product and have it is better and or worse than some other product, you are kind of surrounding yourself with the same people that you were around when you were big a snus user. I would assume that is like trying to quit using marijuana, but continuing to be around communities that embrace it, basically I don't see how current addicts might be that supportive to your will to quit.

For me personally, I am still able to be in the "maintain" phase of snus using, and I would say it helps a lot considering that it is not exactly that popular IRL, at least compare to smoking. So for me, this message board is really the only place where the product receives any amount of praise, and outside it still falls under "Eww, that's disgusting!"

Maybe I am wrong, but I would assume that avoiding communities such as snuson.com would help a great deal, especially if you are in a similar situation as mine where smokeless tobacco isn't really that well accepted in your portion of the real world. This message board might just give you too much unneeded exposure to stuff that you are currently trying to avoid. All these reviews of new products, and pros and cons of it compared to some other products, etc. seems a lot of this shit would just give you a "Oh, I haven't tried that one yet" impression rather than "I am keeping my word on quitting, so I will avoid this 'more delicious' stuff".

Same goes for the "weekend prilla", as I doubt that will help you much in terms of quitting since you will still continue reintroducing your body to the stuff, and actually might be a bad thing since the delays between uses might actually reestablish your original level of tolerance for the stuff, and you might start getting the "highs" that got you to use snus in the first place.

The less exposure you have with snus, the easier it will be for your to avoid it.

I might be wrong about this though, since I have no experience with being addicted to snus nor having to get off it. So what I am saying I guess is just a mix of observations rather than actual "from personal experience" stuff. But regardless, continuing to be in a community for snus, whether it be this forum, is probably the least supportive place for trying to actually get off the stuff...I would assume that is like going to a marijuana community and asking them for support on quitting marijuana.

      Just my $0.02

@snusless you do have quite a few solid points there... but there's so many reason of why I can't stop coming here ... wether I continue to snus or quit it alltogether I'll be hanging around every now and then...

im a member on dozens of communities online and never neglected any of them... thats just me

          lol

Precious007: What do you do when you have a crave for snus / nicotine?
In my case, I have the withdrawal symptoms all the time but a crave only lasts for about 3-6 minutes for me.

              Do you notice the same?

I find that exercise is really helpful, only problem is that on day 2 I can't get out of bed because my muscles are sore !

                @xrt

I do quite a lot of things ... go biking... go swimming... i drink plenty of water (today i drunk 8 or 9 bottles of 500 ml water) ... i eat frequently .. i get on with reading stuff online or a book ... theres so many things you can do...

the worst part is that in the complete withdrawal mode i am depressed like hell... and anything i do i do mecanically sort of .. without feeling any enjoyment..

i decided to use a portion of snus per day or a prilla right after lunch .. for another cpl days

                  How's it going?

I went to Sweden the other day to pick up some cheap Mountain Dew and Thunder, when I saw a new product. I can't remember the name, but it was snus for those who wants to quit. They had four versions. One with 75% tobacco, one with 50% tobacco, one with 25% and a tobacco free version.

                  Have you tried it?

I must say this, that loonic is stupid... If I understand correctly the point is so that you quit gradually? Well... the can with 25% tobacco STILL will have nicotine in it. So that when the last can is empty and you start on the nicotine-free can you still need to go through the 72-84 hours it takes to get nicotine out of your system, it won't make quitting any easier!
Cold turkey is the only way.

I disagree, i think it's easier to gradually quit and it sounds like a product like Loonic could help you do that.

                            +1 ansel

gradual quitting is far more doable.. that's what i've done with cigarettes and alcohol ... right to the point where i said - No More!

i also quit dip gradually... basicallly quitting gradually is for those that dont want to go through a severe withdrawal and it is doable

trying to do it with snus as well

I with you ansel.. It hard to go cold turkey and stepping down slowly does work for a lot of people.. I haven't looked into that brand but it might just work out.. You could also use some northerner and step it down that way as well... It's kind of like a NRT...

                              Good Luck Precious!!
