While I'm not planning on quitting any time soon, over the last couple of weeks I've made a conscious to effort to regulate my usage with a view to cutting down. I allowed myself 8 portions per day maximum, but most days I am using only 6, with no ill-effects or jonesing.

It's 60 hours for me and then all of a sudden the withdrawal just disappears.
Keep going. I know the world your head is in. Keep going.

Precious i have some ocd rituals.. main one is doors. I have to check the car doors like 15 times and make sure all the interior lights are off. I know rationally that everything is locked and off but I keep checking.

          What weird words?

just random words ... like melodies that dont stop in your mind...

the words dont have any meaning.. and they dont make sentences either (lol im not a schizo) .. i had these before... its kinda annoying..

maybe all people have them but ignore these words .. i cant remember them either..

            lol

              eric .. please read this

              http://www.stuckinadoorway.org/forum...hp?t-6794.html

its something i found earlier related to OCD and its exactly what happens to me.. some kind of intrusive thoughts .. they say its only linked to OCD but normal people have them as well and it doesnt bother them

              lol

and by the way if checking your 10 pockets every single time doesnt bother you then you dont have OCD because its not an obsession...

I think he is saying he is schizophrenic. Lots of people have OCD symptoms. It only becomes debilitating if it's severe.

I used to have a neighbour who was severely OCD, it took him a good twenty minutes to leave his apartment each day while he went through his door locking/unlocking ritual.

First time I became aware of it was one morning when I hear lots of noise from outside my door, so I looked through the spyhole to see what was going on and saw him locking and unlocking the door, pushing to test it, unlocking and locking, pushing to test it, and so on and on.

A couple of times I left my apartment and he was in the middle of the ritual, and he stopped, made as if to go outside, then faked forgetting something and went back upstairs. I felt really bad, because I knew he was going to have to go back and do it all again. In the two years we were neighbours, he had his locks replaced twice, he must have worn them out through overuse.

A friend of mine is a therapist, and she's treated lots of people with OCD, and I debated giving him her card, but never did because I thought it might freak him out if he knew I'd seen him doing his thing.

It made me stop using the phrase OCD flippantly to describe normal behaviour like double-checking I'd locked the car.

i didnt mean to insult him .. being schozofrenic is a health issue like any other health issues thus i would be willing to help rather than isult.

ive just read the part with nicotine as an ocd treatment .. but honestly i have had far worse form of ocd while smoking 2 packs a day ..

Thats right, I'm schizophrenic. I take no offense, but some people might so THAT'S what I meant by WATCH YOUR WORDS.
When I'm on this subject, I am one of the lucky few because they caught my illness at a very early stage and I got some very good medication right away. I am 90% free from a illness that many people commit suicide over.
Oh: Did I mention to you HOW often I check my pockets? I check them several times when I wait for the bus.
If that's not compulsive then I don't know what is, and of course it bothers me...

Good luck on the quit by the way !
