    alcohol + snus?

It seems like on every health authority website, it says that alcohol combined with tobacco creates a multiplied risk of cancer - much higher than using either tobacco or alcohol alone.

I live in America, so I'm assuming that when they say "tobacco" they are mostly referring to cigarette smoking/American dip combined with alcohol. So my question is, does this apply to snus also?

I'm not a heavy drinker by any means, but I enjoy a few beers on the weekend. And for me, a pris of loose snus is the perfect finish after enjoying a nice tall cold one. Very unwinding and delicious!

I think it's alcohol and smoking. Smoke leaves carcinogens in your mouth, and the alcohol acts as a solvent to wash them down your throat. Where would they go without the alcohol? I dunno. I guess it's time to read some medical studies ;^)

      Here's a pdf...

      http://pubs.niaaa.nih.gov/publicatio...93/193-198.pdf

I just scanned over it, but it doesn't appear to go into much detail on the exact mechanisms at work. Alcohol causes cancer, smoking causes cancer, and the 2 work together to increase the chance of cancer. Near as I can tell snus isn't a factor.
