    I stopped reading after seeing "Nicotene has toxic effects"

    I allways believed Nic by itself is as safe as caffeine.

      Well, caffeine has toxic effects too. You just don't hear the zealots bitching about it like you do nicotine.

        Well pretty much everything in life to an extent is toxic.. If you eat alot of carrots to an extreme your skin will show an orange hue for example. Too much water you can actuay get sick. Anything can be toxic.

              Eggplant and Green tomatoes have nicotine in them, guess we need to alert someone. Next to tobacco, the plant that has the most nicotine is Eggplant...read that yesterday, how weird....now Chad will be smoking eggplant ;-)

                Except it has the LD50 of 0.5-1mg/kg of bodyweight.
                So 60mg can kill an adult.

                      The funny thing is that many plants contain nicotine, and it's the nightshade family of plants that apparently contain the evil nicotine, lol. Here's a list from that second link I posted

                      Nicotiana tabacum L. -- Tobacco; 20,000 - 40,000 ppm in Leaf;
                      Equisetum arvense L. -- Field Horsetail, Horsetail; 0.4 ppm in Plant;
                      Apium graveolens L. -- Celery; in Plant;
                      Asclepias syriaca L. -- Milkweed; in Sprout Seedling;
                      Atropa bella-donna L. -- Belladonna; in Leaf;
                      Carica papaya L. -- Papaya; in Plant;
                      Datura stramonium L. -- Jimsonweed; in Plant;
                      Duboisia myoporoides R. BR. -- Corkwood Tree, Pituri; in Leaf;
                      Erythroxylum coca var. coca -- Coca; in Leaf;
                      Huperzia spp -- Cutleaf Clubmoss; in Plant;
                      Juglans regia L. -- English Walnut; in Leaf;
                      Lycopodium clavatum L. -- Antler Herb, Clubmoss; in Pollen Or Spore;
                      Mucuna pruriens (L.) DC. -- Cowage, Velvetbean; in Seed;
                      Nicotiana glauca R. GRAH. -- Tree Tobacco; in Leaf;
                      Nicotiana rustica L. -- Aztec Tobacco; in Leaf;
                      Solanum tuberosum L. -- Potato; in Plant;

                        .....huh?
                        Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

                        I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
