I find Tom's of Maine whitening gel paste works pretty well on snus stains, and if you're like me and despise the taste of mint, it comes in nice fruit flavors like orange-mango.

I'm fairly lazy when it comes to extreme dental hygiene, but if slightly whiter teeth is as simple as picking the right stuff up at the store, I'm all ears...
Crest Enamel works good for me, not particularly for whitening (although it claims to whiten). It does increase the enamel's resistance to acids though. I also make a thick baking soda paste once a week and brush my teeth with that. After I started doing that, I had no problems with stains (except my "normal" tooth discoloration - my teeth are a little off-white anyway).

The Colgate Total line is pretty much the best toothpaste available today. That coupled with the restoring properties of Listerine Total Care (purple) is about the best you can do for your teeth. The Colgate Total has a good amount of Fluoride, plus the antibacterial/antimicrobial properties of Triclosan. Plus it has an added binding polymer which makes it sort of "stick" to the teeth, the Triclosan preventing the sugar-fermenting bacteria from living on or carrying out their metabolic activities on the teeth for up to 12 hours. Then by following that with the purple Listerine, which kills any leftover bacteria with its insane alcohol content, and restores enamel/strengthens teeth with its added fluoride content. Also, I'm kind of OCD when it comes to my teeth, so I brush 4 times a day(morning and night, and after each meal) and floss twice, which really helps.

And no, I do not work for Colgate or Listerine, Its just that Microbiology is part of what I do for a living.

I slacked up on the oral hygene for a little while (only 2 times per day) and I was getting stains between the teeth.

The real solution is to rinse your mouth between loads, and floss 3x per day. No stains. If you need a jumpstart use peroxide while flossing (over a sink, its messy). All the whitening products use peroxide and laugh when you pay a lot for it.

I find that eating Spam every day has really helped my teeth. My dentist couldn't be any happier. Thank you for helping me with my oral hygiene :^)

After I quit smoking, I went to my dentist. i had been snussng for awhile. He said i was glad i quit and commented on how good my mouth was. He was surprised when I said i snussed. I explained to him about SNUSS. The only thing he said was move it around. Period.

I hear about people getting lung and throat cancer, and they never smoked or used oral tobacco. It makes me think, if they had, then people would say that's what "caused" it. So, for people who do use it, and get it, how can one know that's what "caused" it? It may have happened anyway regardless. I think it's more genetic history more than what one does.
