I'm with Lx tho. I can do whatever I want whenever I want. So I smoke a cig maybe 3 times a year. I don't mind the smoke and let people smoke in my trucks if they want. I will never forget my smoking brothers and sisters. I see them smokers everywhere all the time. I remember the bond I had with them and still do.
Hopefully you offer them snus from time to time!

        I have a question for ex-smokers....
How do you feel? Physically. You know, like more energy, etc?
I've heard this from the people who quit nicotine completely, but i want to know from snuser

Much more energy and stamina. More Oxygen no carbon monoxide = Better living. Been about 3 years for me as well. I too subscribe to doing what I want when I want tho. Which leads to at least a couple ciggies a month never a full one at a time tho and usually socially or when I'm gettin buzzed.

I can certainly breath better. I am more active too, mainly because I used to let "where can I smoke" control what I did and where I went, now I just go and do things with a portion in my mouth and never give it another thought. My family still smokes, so now I see from an outside view how much time I used to waste having smoke breaks. All in all the difference is remarkable. It's like being a non-smoker, with the benefit of getting my nic.

Yep, same for me, I do still enjoy a smoke every so often, usually if I'm out having a few beers (which is rare these days, what with a newborn and a pre-schooler running my life!). I smoke safe in the knowledge that snus is the safety net that allows me to have the odd one here and there knowing full well that I won't end up back on a pack a day.

                Congratz on quitting cigs.

I smoked a pack a day for 14 years before I started using snus. I can't say I'm really bothered by smoke, but I can now smell it over long distances. Last time I smoked it tasted like gasoline (yes, I do know what gasoline tastes like). For me my sense of smell and taste are heightened a lot over the last couple of years, although I still have problems tasting most snus... which is why I prefer stronger flavoured snus. I find that I breath easier nowadays too.

it seems longer but I remember my pregnant wife giving me a case of
nicotine gum for xmas and the pressure was on! Found snus researching quitting methods that actually work.

I tried both the patch and gum... they didn't work for me. It's almost as if they didn't provide enough nic to do the job. Hell... I would be smoking while I was wearing the patch and chewing the gum!

One major physical change for me is that I can now breath like I did when I was a kid. No hacking in the morning... the a ability to take long deep breaths... and best of all... no urge to have a smoke!

For those of you that say you have a smoke every now and then... I don't know how you can do it? Cigarettes are far to much like a drug to me. For me, there is no such thing as "just one smoke." One leads to another.. to another... to another... and before you know it, you are hooked again. It's almost like being an alcoholic! You can't just have one drink!

I can happily smoke a cigarette or three without too much trouble in quitting again if i have some stark snus but i have to think to myself do i really want to affect my breathing so usually i end up having some virigina pipe tobacco in a briar pipe instead.

I wouldn't be able to do that without snus. I'm still addicted to nicotine, but not smoking. A cigarette is just an amusing diversion, but if I didn't have snus, a cigarette would likely lead to full blown smoking again.

Yeah it's the same with me. What i like about snus is i don't feel like i'm anti-smoking unlike many people who quit smoking (without snus?)

You're still hooked on nicotine whether you use cigs or snus. It's just one delivery system is better for you than the other.

I very recently quit cigarettes so I still enjoy the smell of them - but smoking a cigarette has got this "impure" feel to it now, so I don't like smoking myself(And it's only been some weeks).
I still get horrible cravings but I'm kicking 'em pretty good. Even though I am quite young I have been smoking for some time and Snus really helped me there - it's the only cure that has ever worked for me. Even though snus is considered quite nasty in Denmark I can hardly give a (excuse the language) flying **** about it, 'cause I damn well love snus now. I feel much more alive without the smoke weighing me down - But I can't blame it all on snus alone. This forum has helped me stick to snus so I really appreciate it guys... Hearing how a lot of you guys kicked the habit inspires me to keep on going, so thanks y'all!
And congratulations to all of you other guys who succesfully shed the nasty habit altogether!
I must admit that I still take the liberty of having a cigarette or two at parties especially if I have no snus available... But no matter how many cigs I have I still crave snus a lot more now.
