    Snus & Sports?

    Hello,

I'm a former smoker, having quit with the help of snus. I haven't smoked in 3 weeks! I'm also an avid ice hockey fan and player. Sometimes if I snus before a game I have a hard time catching my breath and or I get tired easily. Granted, my stamina has increased greatly since I quit smoking--snus still somehow throws me off of my game.

Anyone else have this problem with snus and sports/working out?

    Thanks!

You better should snus within the game than before. At least that's worth a try, I guess. Snusing before a game could mean, that you have to deal with nicotine-withdrawal.

My only workout at the moment is bicycle-riding and I try to avoid longer climbs or sprints, so take it for what it's worth. Snus is certainly not appropriate for professional athletes or highly exhausting sports, but otherwise the nicotine even gives a little boost.

    Cheers!

Ok, not exactly "spots' but I always put a portion in right before and keep it in throughout my ping-pong games, it has actually improved my play, but that's because the nicotine helps me focus... the physical exertion I'm going through there is minimal though, heh.

More than not, the exaustion likely has to do with smoking in the past. Try supplementing with 2 grams of L-Arginine per day at lunch.. it helps boost the oxygen levels in your red blood cells by rasing your nitric oxide and l-proline (recovery).. it can help you with the fatigue issues.

If you are on any NSAIDS, ACE, or diuretics don't take it though. An added side effect is that it stimulates internal HGH and you will gain lean muscle mass as well. Great little supplement that our body natrually produces yet most of us do not eat the diet to have it produced.

I snagged this link from the 'famous snusers' topic. Quite a few of the individuals listed are athletes. http://www.snusen.com/famous-people-snus.php
