Anyway....as long as he doesn't use snus in the vicinity of the lesion, there most likely will not be any further trouble in the mouth. Snus may cause lesions, but there has been one documented case of oral cancer caused by snus in all of snusdom's history thus far. If nasal snuff is an option I would suggest that as there are already oral health implications in the mouth and I have never seen an issue with nasal snuff and cancer....but who am I? Just a tobacco enthusiast on the www.
When it comes down to snus and nasal snuff for me, I am here for harm reduction. I smoked for fifteen years and quit smoking with dip. Dip messed up my gums and I looked for something safer. I found through researchabout and thisI forum i could stop using tobacco with high TSNA'S for myself with snus and snuff. As of yet I have not had an issue with snus. Nasal snuff gives me brown boogers.
I am healthier than I was when I used American tobacco.
I want to go back in time and kick my own ass for buying that first pack of cigarettes.
But, as I wish not to quit I do what is safest in my opinion.
I hope you find peace in your husband's decision. It is difficult to feel that your partner is doing something that may jeopardize their health and sleeping easy on that may be difficult, as you want them to be there for you and the family as long as they are able.
I hope you find the piece of info that will help you here on this forum or in a study somewhere.
Good luck.

I’m not clear on the question….could you please repeat it……….just kidding
Ok dear.......I think I fit the bill you are looking for.
I dipped for 25 years and my gums stayed torn up. My dentist diagnosed me with precancerous lesions. I never stopped dip or took a period of time off. I went straight from dip to snus in one day and never looked back. My gums healed from dip while I was using snus....no more hurt....... no more leather lip........no more sores.
A while back I posted about my journey from dip to snus in a post called the Dippers Guide to snus. A lot of folks have since contributed their experience. I will give you the link......as long as you promise not to post anything there. If you have any question ask them here.......and only ask them to PP
Here is the link

Another resource you will want to look at is the collection of medical papers and research that has been written on snus. You can find the links to these papers here
http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthre...ufacturer-Info
These are real Medical papers and will take some time for you to get through. Most of the members who are posting on this thread have read a good bit on the subject. When they tell you there is no link to oral cancer and snus they are backed by the best medical research on the subject to date.
From my own personal experience my gums healed while using snus. But if your husband still has existing sores in his mouth then I would try not to irritate it with anything (regardless if it is snus or Sprite or whatever…let the area heal). Move the snus to a different area. When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Yeah Dog! This forum pulls through every time. See, Kkingery83? It's all love here. These people rule. Monkey, nice post too brother. I'ma go to bed tonight knowing that my snuson brethren came through at the crux of the situation and helped a lady out, properly. Sometimes, in retrospect, it's all in how you ask the question. There was a big bog of bullshit to stomp through, but in the end.... that's some good info right there from some SnusOn soldiers.
