As much as I despise pharma nicotine products, I call bullshit. It's full of anecdotes, and outrght falsehoods, while the author has a vested interest in scare mongering against nicotine.

It's a terrible depressing piece of writing - sorry to have brought it to your attention.

        :^D

Not at all. "Medical" papers should be peer reviewed, and we're reviewing it. Whether they're pro/con, good/bad, or indifferent, it's all up for grabs. We may not be medical professionals here, but most of us are pretty well read in the narrow category of nicotine and tobacco. This is the perfect place to vet papers that are relevant to our interests :^)

Never heard of anyone losing their hair through nicotine! A boss i worked for was on nico-chewing gum for 2 years and was fine.

Sure. It isn't like they use magic nicotine in those products. How many people do you know that have smoked, chewed, whatever for decades and still have their hair? I could see nicotine exacerbating an issue, and accelerating hair loss, but it would only be speeding up the inevitable. It's not like you quit smoking, start chewing gum, and your hair falls out in clumps after a year :^D

The link isn't working for me but I have to call bullshit because nicotine gum hasn't been around long enough for a true long-term study in my opinion. I will tell you this: My dad is 83 and smoked for 40 years before he finally quit and he has a head of hair that would make a chinchilla jealous. It really sucks that the hair genes come from mom as her father was as bald as a cueball...

Here we go again. Another ego trip for the anti-everything Nazi's. Do they really want to turn everyday working people in to serial killers?

With the way some people drive I would love to see warning labels on the sides of cars.

Maybe the FDA warning for anything nicotine related should be changed to 'this nicotine product may cause gum disease, tooth &/or hair loss' ;-)

I suppose what you really need is a set of male triplets who have a non-bald maternal grandfather. One can smoke, one can chew nic gum and one can be nic-free.

Bet they all keep their hair.
