I just started snuffing again and remembered why I stopped, because it was messing with my sinuses. This time instead of quitting it though I finally got a neti pot. Man, what a difference!

I am using room temp zero water and microwave it for 30 seconds to bring the temp up and it's perfect. Without you guys, I would have never even known about using a neti pot, thanks. I had just heard about this story recently, so glad I didn't use tap water.

If water today is not safer than then I don't know what is. Full disclosure I didn't check out the link. But I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't a hit piece against homeopathic cures for things big pharma would rather sell drugs for.......
Well you simply boil first and let it cool down to warm for comfort. Or use distilled water.

What do you guys think about bottled spring water? That's what I've been using.

Dunno. I think it would be safe, but they say bottled water's worse than tap water for contaminates. If you're using bought water anyway, I'd just buy distilled water for your neti pot. It's cheap enough, and you can use your drinking water for drinking.

I got one of those zero water filters. It comes with a water tester. I tested it on tap, boiled tap, bottled spring water, and bottled purified water.

            Tap: 24 ppm
            Boiled Tap: 39 ppm
            Spring Water: 94 ppm
            Purified Water: 14 ppm

The water from the filter of course was zero ppm
