    Bulges under bottom lip

Hi, I've dipped and used snus for several years now. I've recently come out of a particularly heavy period of use and have noticed 'bags' under my bottom lip. Probably not coincidentally in the areas I dip/snus. I'm a bit freaked out to be honest, while they are not incredibly noticeable, I'm fearing that I may not have them permanently or they will get worse with age. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced and if they will go away if I stop for awhile or switch to the top lip or if they are permanent, and if the latter are there treatments available for removing?

I'm not sure what you refer to as bags under your lip...

I do have some kind of granules IN the bottom lip and I think it's normal...

    Welcome to Snuson!

Welcome to SnusOn, enjoy the site.

You might want to try some kegel exersizes to tighten up your lips.

btw, snus is intended to be used under your upper lip
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Hi, and thanks for the quick reply. When I look at myself in the mirror, I can see small bulges under each corner of my mouth. In the exact position where the snus makes a buldge when it's in there. But the buldge remains even when I'm not using the snus. It's really not that noticeable, but I can see them and would hate to be doing any permanent damage. However I do enjoy snusing in that location of my mouth, just wondering if anyone else has experienced and any advice?

          Use smaller pinches.

So hopefully they go away with smaller pinches or switching to the top lip. Maybe facial exercises as well. I'm sure I'm being paranoid, hopefully this helps. Anyone who's noticed and they've gone away please let me know. As my mind tends to play tricks on me and lately it's telling me I've really f'ed up my face! Time will tell I suppose.

              Never had anything similar :-)

But I hope it's not from snusing

Tobacco will create indentations where it's placed over time. The area where I place snus has a nice pocket, which makes snus concealment quite easy -- it's actually quite convenient, as portions don't show anymore.

Hi Snusjus, this is actually the opposite. A couple of small outward bumps so it looks like I always have it in... Doesn't seem to be a health risk though, just to much pushing outward for too long...

Oh, I see. So the skin has been stretched from the tobacco?

My current boss dipped for at least thirty years and he has a pocket in his lower lip you can see. He has only been off dip a year and a half, maybe two and it has become less noticeable. I know what it is and noticed it because I am a smokeless tobacco user. The average joe doesn't notice.

I got some bulges and inflammation in my lower gums after 2 days of using Copenhagen extra long cut, I also noticed it burned more (felt nice as hell). Switched back to regular long cut and the bulges/inflammation disappeared after a day or two.
