Typical anti tobacco fluff piece. Low on facts, and high on hyperbole.

The article is more "balanced" than others I've read. I'm actually impressed a little bit.

But despite all of that, mounting evidence suggests snus isn't a good thing.

Bullshit. Where is this mounting evidence?

But smokeless tobacco is a major cause of oral cancer, pancreatic cancer, and esophageal cancer.

We're talking about snus here right? What scientific study is this from?

And snuff products actually deliver more cancer-causing nitrosamines than cigarettes do.

True - nasal snuff contains massive amounts of nitrosamines. If they were in any way scientific they would know that in this case the amount snuffed is the danger. It is impossible to use enough snuff to cause cancer.

And there's evidence that these nitrosamines -- or something else in snus -- are causing cancer. In Sweden and Norway, where snus originated, snus users have a significantly higher risk of pancreatic cancer.

What! From 4 in every 100,000 for non users to 8 in every 100,000. (F**k me)

Snus are also linked to mouth sores, dental cavities, heart attack, stroke, and diabetes risk.

These lies are disgraceful. Dental cavities FFS???? WTF!

If I were a major snus producer I'd take every one of these f**kers that produce this kind of sh**e to court. Admittedly they did redeem themselves somewhat in the conclusion but they've totally missed the point - that snus is up to 98% less harmful than smoking.............but they just love to wank themselves off about the tenuous 2% of harm.

it's the not quantity that contributes to cancer -

it's the disposition to make cancer in the first place.

People can get cancer from 1 month of smoking.

Admittedly genetic disposition plays and extremely important role but scientific figures focus on large samples of population to take this into account.

Just the usual tobacco Nazi shite. The person that wrote it was probably having their healthy, non habit forming large Double Whopper meal, large fries and a bottle of wine to wash it all down whilst they were writing it :-)

I thought all that shite in the press about Stacy Soloman yesterday was laughable. She was pretty much made out to be the devil for smoking :-)

Speaking on a large scale - Sweden has the lowest rates of pancreatic cancer - this chart shows

                          http://www.swedishmatch.com/en/Snus-...reatic-cancer/

Swedish Match even says that there is no real proof that snus contributes to pancreatic cancer.

to top it all, alcohol is a major player when it comes to pancreatic cancer

ok, so probably 1 billion people worldwide drink compared to 50 millions snusers (not sure if there are that many)

there are so many theories today when it comes to health issues, that people might even get confused -

How about starting a vegan lifestyle, stop the sedentary life and eating junk food? that would dramatically improve health - talking of my own experiences...

This graph clearly shows that snus actually protects against some forms of cancer - source: Royal College of Physicians report on tobacco.
