Someone please talk me out of it!

So I quit smoking last November and started snussing. I had 3 months smoke-free, then broke down and smoked a few.. Since then I've smoked periodically, mostly with my wife who still smokes. I'm at the point where I honestly prefer snus and don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by not smoking.. I go days and weeks and never think about cigarettes, and when I do smoke I usually wind up feeling terrible.. I kind of enjoy being a non-smoker.

But recently I've been considering buying a pack of cigarettes. Just to keep around the house. Some ridiculously extravagant brand I'd never usually buy.. Nat Shermans or English Ovals.. Then I heard about the new Red Man snuff and want to try it even though I never was much of a dipper.

Someone please tell me I'm just being silly. I really don't want to smoke, except when I do..

Don't beat yourself up too bad. I understand that the urge to smoke is a tough one to beat especially if you are exposed to it. If you want one every now and then, go ahead. I came to snus from cigs almost 3 months ago. In the begining I did both then realized I liked snus much better and really dislliked almost everything about smoking. I still miss it from time to time but have thus far resisted the urge to smoke. My wife never used tobacco in any form so I her for support. Good luck and hang in there.

Get the wife to convert to snus.

I had a cig the other day. Most awful thing I've ever tasted. Of course it was a Marlboro ultra light.

yeah, don't worry about the odd ciggie here or there.

I moved to snus almost a year ago after 15+ years smoking. To begin with I had the occasional smoke but I can honestly say it wasn't too nice and I last smoked while trashed in Japan in March and haven't wanted one since.

Just go with the flow - smoke if you feel like it. It WILL pass away naturally in time. Might be worth keeping some Marly Ultra Lights around tho - just to put you off!!

(BTW, I still have the odd shisha bowl here and there too - if anything I crave the taste and ritual of a good hookah session far more than a cig!)

One of the beautiful things about snus, if you want a cigarette and have one, you probably won't want another, at least right away. Not like if you were nicotine free, that one cigarette inevitable leads to another.

So if you want one, have one. Trust me, it will probably gross you out a bit, and sending you flying back for a snus. These past 3 weeks, I had a woman staying with me who smoked, so I was smoking FAR more than normal. She left Saturday morning and I have not had a cigarette since.

snus provides you the freedom to choose what you want, not just do it because you need it.

Yeah, I quit smoking a few weeks ago with snus and continued to smoke the rest of the pack I had. I went through that pack very slowly, I found it was really gross. Plus my lungs started to hurt. I had about 5 left and just said "Screw it" and threw them away.

So if you want to smoke, do it. It'll steer you away and back to snus like others have said.

Either you love you wife very much or you love your wife very much.

(I'm not married but you should grasp the depth of that sentence very readily).

Translation for the non-attached; he's gonna kick it or keep her.
