    Gum problems? READ HERE!!

So, I have always had gums that were a bit more receded than my dentist would like, even before I started snusing in December. Since I started snusing, my gums have felt ... angry. I liked snus, but could tell that my gums were none too happy with it.

I stumbled upon Bee Propolis while looking through a natural health forum for ways in which to help receding gums. This stuff is AMAZING and I highly recommend it. I have the Gaia Herbs Liquid Propolis Extract. It's basically a tincture that you mix into a small amount of water and drink. It has a number of other purported benefits, but I don't really care about these. What I care about is that now, my gums feel healthy and happy!

I drink/swish the stuff 2x per day after brushing teeth. My gums feel MUCH better. I thought I should share this because some of you have reported having problems with your gums!! I would love to hear if any of you have used this, and what your reactions have been!

Thanks for the tip. I haven't heard of that before but I am willing to try it. I was using Uncle Harry's tooth powder with some success but I hats paying $5 to ship toothpaste. The stuff tastes good.

Nevermind I just looked it up and it has gelatine

You can buy propolis from your local beekeeper. Support your local beekeeper! ;-)

Their stuff's pretty spendy. Is it really worth it?

Yes! I used to buy it at a place called Community Market in Santa Rosa. They charged a bit more than the Internet site but not having to pay shipping made it worth it. They stopped carrying it a while ago but no one seems to know why. I have a feeling that were politely telling me it didn't sell enough to keep in stock. The only thing is that it is really salty but I love salt so it tasted fine to me.

Is it the Uncle harry's toothpaste or tooth poweder? What is the difference between the two?

Just personal preference. The paste is made with mud and has a minty flavor to it. The powder taste like salt and cloves. I am thinking the powder might clean a bit better depending on how you brush. I also like the way the powder taste. The paste might be better for those trying to find a natural alternative to regular toothpaste. You use about 1/2 the amount you normally use to brush for either the powder or paste. You should easily get 3 months out of the medium (2 oz) size if you brush twice a day.

Thanks very much. I have ordered 2 ounces of the powder and can't wait to try it! They also had a bee propolis chewing gum, which I bought as well.
