Same here. When I cut out the soft drinks and enriched flour products my heartburn just stopped completely. I can drink Ouzo, eat whatever and never get the HB.

If you suffer from frequent heartburn, never ever drink Ouzo.

Curious on this as well, take prevacid but study that came shows these prescriptions have side effects that are worse than originally thought. 260 now, need to get down to 210. Stopping smoking should help, at least breathing and exercising anyways.

I had chronic heartburn from age 19 to 29. Started using snus, quit smoking, and just like that it was gone. It'll flare up now and then if I drink a bunch of soda or something. But without smoking I can have salsa and spicy foods with no problems. It's been one of my favorite parts of giving up cigs and picking up snus.

I get pretty bad heatburn with Snus sometimes, usually when I swallow some of the juice. I usually only get the heartburn with stronger flavored Snus brands.

I ALWAYS had heartburn when I smoked and was about 40lbs heavier, this was about 5 yrs ago. I decided to get back in shape and I lost the weight, and the heartburn left as well. I still smoked 2.5packs/day and still didn't have the heartburn. I quit smoking 15 months ago using snus, got lazy and gained 30lbs back, guess what else came back....my heartburn, lol.

For me, I've surmised that my heartburn is more a product of my weight than the smoking. However, I'm guessing it may be a combination of things that work to bring on the heartburn. Everyone's different, so experiment to find out what's causing it. Also the baking soda does work!

I may drop the prevacid now and see how it goes, that would be nice.
