My suggestion is to start drinking heavily. Doesn't work all the time but it does help sometimes. Then again if you read some of my posts you will realize it is not a good Idea. Head this advise with great caution.

      Welcome to Snuson!
      I agree 100% with Mike

Snip (i.e. American snusdip) is so full of sweeteners and who knows what else that my guess is a steady use of it may very well be behind your problem. Remember, everything about American snus is to dissuade you from using it regularly. It is marketed not as a cigarette alternative....but for those times you can't light up.

Eventual gum irritation may be an intentional part of the marketing.........to send you back to the cigs.

Anyway............like Mike said..............pick up some Swedish snus and see if that does not help
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Leukoplakia is nothing to worry about, and that's exactly what you have. The word simply means "white patch". If it bothers you, change the position of your snus once in awhile. You should probably do that anyway, but I don't so much. Move the snus, or stop using it, and it'll go away.

Somebody has got to tell him about the fiberglass and it's knack of messing up your lips for good.

It's ok though...you get the nicotine faster.

Most of the time, I chain snus. The only times that I get any irritation is when I move it around a lot. If I leave it alone, the irritation usually goes away. If it really bothers me, I move to the other side. Some brands do seem a bit rougher, while Onyx is super silky-smooth and never causes me any irritation, no matter what.

How many portions have you been using each day?

It doesn't really bother me. I consider it a sub-optimal condition, rather than being harmful. It does indicate gum damage, but contrary to what many dentists/doctors say, it doesn't lead to cancer. I get it most from Swedish Match lössnus. I think it's due to the salt content.

I went to the dentist on time after using SM snus pretty heavily, and I had a bit of gator lip. He gave me a bunch of dire warnings, and acted concerned. It was gone the next time I went, and the look of surprise on his face was palpable. He tells me it's gone, and I just said "yup". I've tired of arguing with these people. They get out of school, think they know everything, and also think they've finished learning. Most have a superiority complex that's hard to get through. If they're willing to learn, I'm willing to talk, and I'm also willing to change my opinion, but you better come with real science, and not internet scare sites, and hearsay.

Never forget, the only difference between a doctor and a Walmart cashier is a bit of education. They have all the same prejudices, and foibles everyone else has. They're just people, and people are wrong. Science won't lead you astray. It's also sometimes wrong, as you're never done with science, but the only thing that can beat real data is real data, and review by the greater community.

I would say that's pretty much average useage. Most people don't have a problem but we are not all built the same. You may simply be more sensitive to using snus, or the salt content in snus, or wintergreen or the mint. Hard to tell at this point.
