Ive been reading all the threads on this subject but I can't seem to find how long it takes for these to clear up? I have a small bump on my gum right where I put portions (I do alternate, but it does tend to go on the left side more, where this is.) Im pretty sure its a small lesion, but depending on the lightning its a little whitish or its the same color as my gum (gums are pink, no other issues that I can see). Im not overly concerned but its been there for a few days and I have not put snus on it since. It hasn't gotten any worse but its been about the same for 4 days or so. Anyone else have something like this before?

Inb4: I have a dentist appointment in 3 weeks, so I have that angle worked out already.

In all likelihood it is like a callous you get on your hand.....except it is on your gum.......in such a case it is caused by the salt, nicotine, and abrasion (portion rubbing when you have it in).

Dippers will get this a lot due to the dryer, coarser, cut of dip as well as whatever else goes into dip that serves as a further irritant.

Regular Arm and Hammer toothpaste (non gel) is good to relieve this.

That said, none of us are doctors.........if it is a concern you should have it checked out

That makes sense, i was thinking along the lines of it being a callous. I mess with portions in my mouth alot, and they tend to be in that spot more than anywhere else. Got the dentist coming up, so I'll let her check it out if it is still there by then.

Just had my regular dentist appointment today. All good, nothing of concern going on. Just the scowl of disapproval for my snus use.
