i think more cancer comes from our diet and pollution than anything short of smoking. Seems like some people get cancer and some don't as silly as that may sound. I think some people could do all the "known" cancer causing things and still not get it. I am still waiting on my doctors license to come in the mail but that's what I gather from studying people i've known in my life. I think it's a pretty sure bet that if a person lives long enough they will get cancer too.
Heck, I know this boy who is 31 years old. Swears to me that he's never taken a drink of alcohol. says he smoked pot about three times, never smoked a cigarette. eats relatively healthy. Not an outdoors man but exercises enough. Last week he had a heart attack, almost died, had to be air lifted to a better hospital, etc.
Until I was 31 (and after) I lived hard and did all those things I listed that he don't do and did a fine job at doing them. At 31 I was in hunky dory shape. Don't make sense if you believe everything doctors say.
My grand dad drank, smoked cigarettes, chewed tobacco, ate pork fat in biscuits, covered his food in salt. Born around 1900, had very little heath care until he was in his fifties. Lived to be 85 years old.

My love for green tea predates my love for tobacco, so while I'm certainly not drinking soley for the possibility that it'll reduce cancer, studies like this: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12004708 certainly do make me feel a little better about my snus use. The chemical in question in green tea that's responsible for the above study is EGCG, which is highest in Japanese-style steam-processed teas, like sencha or gyokruo, which is what I drink almost exclusively. I've also been adding a squeeze of fresh lemon and/or lime juice to my cups, which, according to this: https://news.uns.purdue.edu/x/2007b/...rruzziTea.html may increase the bioavailability even more. Plus, the lemon/lime combination certainly makes a delicious cup hot or cold, even without sweetener. Oh, and even if it doesn't prevent cancer, it may very well help other conditions caused by snus use, like: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19254120
Overall, as long as it's not sipped when scalding, it's probably excellent for gums, and oral health in general, and thus, it may be a great combination to use daily with snus. I will have to check to see if the acidity of the juice will negatively affect anything in combination with snus, but overall, I feel good about my choices in tobacco and tea.
