Really, I don't know. I do think that pasteurization and refrigeration help but would I still buy Odens that was left out? Yes, because it is still way safer than smoking. I do freeze my snus but once I open a can I leave it out. What I do find off is that I can find very little in the way of scientific analysis about this.

You're right, it has to be better than smoking regardless.

It is extremely dangerous to use unrefridgerated snus. I recommend you send it to me, where I can properly and safely dispose of it.

Ahh, CG..! It's been awhile since you've popped in. Don't go Rooski on me, drop in more often!

Odens has a use date of up to a year! So they could be pretty old. The cans tend to dry out helping with aging.

But what does that matter if what rick said is true about temperature not being a big deal?

Not a big deal...but fresh kept cold is the optimum. I would be more concerned about flavor than tsna myself.... but I am faithfull in my attempts to buy and store fresh snus.

Well who knows how the distributors store their snus and for how long before it arrives on our doorsteps. Personally I'd rather not think about it too much. If the snus is well in date I'm happy.

Some Odens cans have a flaw at the hinge that allows them to dry out quickly... only the paper label seals the opening...sometimes a slight gap exists. This allows air in and moisture out. An advantagecon some of the wet snus varieties. My coffee snus dries fast at room temp in a week. I LIKE THEM THAT WAY.

Although just to be safe I think you really need to send them to coderguy and start fresh.

Gotta say though....with standard portions I like them wet but a lot of them were quite dry which I don't like so I just started buying the White Drys which are quality. Does that make any sense?
