    Hi lxskllr :-)

Nicotine does supply nutrition. To the brain, which after all is an organ. Just my 2c

Finally, you can of course try really hard, put your mouth full of snus, your nose full of snuff and yes, you can try to smoke some cigarettes at the same time. But you will never reach a lethal dose. It will only make you feel so sick that you stop smoking, and spit and sniff it all out immediately. You wlll feel sick before you even reach one tenth of the lethal dose.

There has never been a single case of nicotine overdosing from tobacco anywhere in the world, as far as I know. It's physically impossible. It's easier to die from drinking too much water too fast.

All the talk about nicotine as a highly toxic poison is nothing but propaganda by anti tobacco zealots (who mostly are just puritan religious nuts, or gullible wimps who have been brainwashed by puritan pseudo-medical propaganda).

      Cheers!
People do die from nicotine exposure when cutting and spiking tobacco. It's pretty rare because most people use good PPE when handling it, and are aware of the initial onset before it gets really bad. One reason why child labor in a tobacco field, though done in some places, is highly frowned upon. Overdosing on a finished tobacco, I would agree, is probably impossible if you're using it properly. If you were to swallow a whole can of los, you might have a chance of dying, but you might just puke for 72 hrs straight and survive. Although, some tobacco products do have a much higher nicotine dose (not just total nic but free nic which is able to be readily absorbed). Some Sterks are 20mg total nicotine, and because of the high pH, can deliver 80% of that if you leave it in long enough. Of course that is not instant and is over a long period of time + metabolism. Metabolism is a whole other story, but there are several metabolites that linger in the bloodstream for several hours that are just as bad for you so there's some grey area there. Just because it's not nicotine anymore, doesn't mean it's not some other nasty chemical that's also toxic. As for delivery, I know there is research out there, but I don't know exact #'s, but I'd guess that after 60 minutes of a snus, we probably haven't absorbed 50% of the nicotine that's free nicotine. So like people say, some snus's keep on giving, probably over the course of 4+ hours. By then, most of the flavor is going to be gone, or at least much more subtle. If it's a pouch, that thing is gonna be slimy too, and not very appetizing anymore. People that have left a snus in that long know what I'm talking about.

Working in a tobacco lab where we have pure nicotine in order to do nicotine content analysis, we are VERY VERY careful with the stuff. Like 2 lab coats and triple glove, because 1 drop on your skin will kill you or come close to it. Highly toxic as a 100% pure component: Yes. Highly toxic in the very wide 0.3 - 2.0% range of finished products on the market: No.
