    Hi guys,
I am a huge supporter of snus...pretty much the whole town where I spent summers growing up for part of the year in Sweden used snus. It was part of family pretty much, and still is very much a part of who I am. I am by no means an "anti-snus" or "QUIT NOW" type of person. No worries there!
Why is this my first post? Never had too much to say to be honest...I could always chime in and say how much I love General, Ettan, or Goteborgs Prima Fint, but there's lots of people already doing that.

My mom came over to visit my wife and I this evening...and of course she had a can of General (portion) snus in her purse. After dinner, I had 1 portion. I usually take a very large "hillbilly pinch" of General, or, if portions are the only thing available, will take at least 2 (sometimes add a 3rd after 20 minutes or so) portions at a time.
Interesting thing? The one portion got my head spinningafter 10 minutes, and I removed it after about 20 minutes. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but my "tolerance" for nicotine diminished very quickly it seems.

I will see where my experiment (more an experiment than actually quitting I guess I could say) takes me.

Thanks for all of the feedback! If it's interesting for some people, great! If not, that's fine too!

    Cheers

Well...she didn't bring it over to "share," as she knew I was cutting back. When she was in the bathroom I opened her purse and grabbed a portion. ride:

Hey Solberg, I may have been hasty. If you snused on the mother land then I may have committed a grave error in judgement. I thought you were either the same poster or similar poster we had about a month a go that was supposedly stressing about quitting but he did not even have the snus basics down at all, his story was very thin and when questioned he folded. Fyi...Skell and I like to play good cop/bad cop. He played the good cop this go round but really I am the nicer one of the two of us. Sheit man, if your mom carries snus in her purse then frankly that's an extra 50 bonus points. In fact, you maybe the first person I ever dialogued with that their mom may have snused while pregnant. lol That said, I am going to move beyond my initial judgements and keep an open mind and welcome you to snuson.

Hey, no hard feelings man!~~I used to hate it when people tell me my "habit" (it's a pleasure and a hobby, first of all) is gross and that I need to quit!
As for the motherland, yeah I guess you can say that's what got me started! I grew up partly in Sweden, partly in the the US. All the Swedish side of the family snuses. Mom used to bring a suit case full of snus back to the states in the early 90s every summer, complimented by shipments and deliveries by a visiting uncle. Every time I open up a can, it brings me to my childhood, which is one of the reasons I love snus so much.
Anyways, that one portion I had this evening really has me satisfied. I'll let everyone know whether one little "relapse" makes it more tempting to purchase another can or not tomorrow. Either way, I'm fine!
            Cheers!

True, I recall PP referring to one of my recent posts as being a good excuse to attend to his fleshlight...haha

I'm back everyone with an "update!"

Throughout the last few days I have been snacking, snacking, and snacking. Despite going to the gym 5 out of the last 7 days or so, I believe I have gained a little weight. I am aware that snus can help, as food does, in increasing your blood sugar when it gets low (ie snus can curb a craving for sweets).

I came to the conclusion that government/tobacco regulators should probably target snack makers for "warning labels" instead of snus. In my opinon--and everyone is free to make their own--snus is a much "safer" alternative to chips, candy, and soda for satisfying a "craving." It is in my humble opinion that my frequent snacking due to a lack of snus poses a much greater health risk than snus can ever pose (colon cancer, cavities, weight gain, diabetes...the list goes on.)

Snus on everyone! Tomorrow I will be picking up a roll of General Los.

Edit: in 2 weeks I will undergo a medical procedure to cut away some skin on my chest around a benign melanoma than could possible turn malignant if not taken care of. My point? The sun is much, much more "dangerous" than snus can EVER be (in my opinion of course).

I hope it never gets to the stage where I have to give up. I really do enjoy it very much - along with a bit of snuff.

We all have to go on these little experiments and evaluate what we're doing.
Good luck with the op. My mother had one which was malignant - luckily it got taken out in time. She's fine.

                            My experience quitting snus

Im quitting too, but in steps. Thw next is step is transition from 8 to minis... Doing this because of brain chemical treatment for my mental problems. Dont want to take druga from doc. But the feeling od snus after 3 hours is enjoyable. Sad cause like it, but first is health

Solberg meet Ocetor...both of you seem to have a love/hate relationship with snus. Good luck to you both on your snus trials and tribulations.

For me, it's like anything else; I love pizza and beer, but I know that too much isn't good for me. "Everything in moderation," as they say. I limit myself to 1 pizza "outing" per month, and beer only on Friday and Saturday evenings. Snus, on the other hand, since "day 7" I have limited myself to 2 "doses" per day, down from 4 or 5 giant hillbilly pinches. Will I ever say, "I shall never eat pizza ever again"? Nah, probably not. Just limit myself a little. Same with snus.
