    For the Anti-Tobacco mofo's

Thought this makes quite a good bit of sense.

“By telling people their only choices are to quit nicotine entirely or keep smoking and die from it, anti-tobacco advocates will cause a lot of people to die. We want to provide smokers with another alternative.”
Dr Carl V Phillips, associate professor at the University of Alberta School of Public Health. Interview: Canada Newswire, 30 May 2006.

        Me neither!

People need to understand (especially in America), that snus does not cause oral cancer like American snuff (dip, chew, etc...). A lot of smokers that I know flat out refuse to try snus because they think it's going to make their teeth fall out and give them cancer! I think Swedish Match should put information pamphlets packaged with their Triumph cans in order to show people that snus is not in fact that dangerous. However, that would not go too well with the American government!

Please correct me if im wrong, but didn't Canada pass a 200% tobacco tax? While it's great that they are into harm reduction (I wish America was) it is my opinion that they shouldn't be raising taxes as well... I was reminded of a post i read and i don't remember who posted it, but they had problems with customs and taxes in Canada.

Although, America is probably next sadly...all in all i think America has two major problems.

          1) People not minding their own business. Which i think is a major cause of the anti-tobacco movement...because lets face it, anyone on that train probably doesn't use themselves, haha.

and 2) Americans like to "fix what's not broken" this is specially popular with the government.

-may be off topic to original post, but this is all what came to mind when i read it!
