Using snus for the first time and each time I get a constricted feeling in my neck/throat that lasts for a long time after I've taken the portion out. It's quite unpleasant and alarming because it feels like my throat is going to close up, even though it doesn't and I can still breathe just fine. Anyone else get this? will it go away with continued use? I hope so because other than this effect I really like snus, sooo much more than smoking. Googled it and apparently nicotine gum can cause 'apparant' tightening of the throat muscles as a side effect.

It sounds to me like an allergic reaction. Does it happen with a single brand or with multiple brands.
My guess is that it is a reaction to a flavoring ingredient.
If you have a different brand and flavor profile of snus try that and see what happens (before you do please make sure you have an antihistamine (e.g. Benadryl) on your person).
A reaction that restricts airflow is not something to try and just play through.
Keep us posted and be carefulWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
