    A concern I have.

I have been using snus for about a year now, but just recently, five months ago, got really serious with it. The last month, I have switched to Ettan lös exclusively and have been using the 'farmer's' method of snusing it, as I enjoy a bigger snus and bulge in the upper lip. I fear that because of this, I may have developed an issue: there is a hole about the size of an allspice berry peppercorn on my gum, right above my second tooth. Taking a picture with flash reveals that I can either: A) See said tooth through small hole; B) The white I see is just skin forming around hole.

Is there any true worries I should have about this? Perhaps using biotine and using my left side until it heals? Thanks in advance for your time and responses.

I would be a bit worried (not alarmed but a bit concerned). My worry would actually be that it did not have anything to do with snus.

So....I would switch sides (taking the snus out of the equasion) and then I would keep a close eye on it. If it gets worse or does not begin to go away in a week or so....I would have it checked at once......even if it does go away, you might want to mention it to your dentist at your next appointment......just to make sure it is not some sort of gum issue that needs attention

To me salt abrasions and rough patches are one thing....a hole is quite another
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Okay, cool. Yes, not that the snus would cause this, but because gum disease is rampant in my family: I'm concerned. If in a week, it heals, I'll be headed to the local dentist to check it out. The same if it does *not* get better.

At first, it started out as a little rough patch, but I paid no attention to it. Couple days after, I noticed when a pinch was in my right side, my tooth felt stiff and the pain was more sharp, rather than the usual tang that's felt when first placing one in.

Given the family history, you might want to look into Nasal Snuff. It might be a great alternative (or at least a good supplement).

You can find more info about it here

Cool! I've been curious about snuff. May have to give it a try once I have some money to throw toward it.

Upon cutting back usage a bit and keeping the portion (out of Lös) off the spot, it has healed more than half-way. After reading more on lesions and the differences between the oral conditions, it was just an abrasion that I didn't care for in time and it lead to some skin being torn. Since using sensodyne and biotine, my gums are much healthier and my mouth stays more moist (reducing irritation as well) better. Just have to be more careful and stay diligent with my oral hygiene.
