Smokeless tobacco (snus) and risk of heart failure: results from two Swedish cohorts

    Has anyone seen these studies?

I wonder how the risks compare to cigarettes?

    I now have hypertension :-)

Just glancing at it (I will go back and give it a more thorough read when I have a minute) I would surmise that the past smoking had far more to do with later heart issues than current use of snus.

Regardless, it is not snus but the nicotine in it that would be the main culprit (with salt playing a minor factor). I would see if any studies have been done on dip and hypertension (since in this regard they both contain the same basic ingredients of interest.....when comparing dip and snus with regards to cancer it is the processing method that distinguishes the two...however unless shown otherwise I don't think processing plays a big factor in hypertension)......thus any study on dip and hypertension would shed light on snus and hypertension. It is also my guess that there have been more studies on dip over a longer period of time.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
