WHAT ARE THE HEALTH AFFECTS OF NASAL SNUFF?

    I'm listening........
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

you just never know where a finger has been....

as far as nasal snuff and health, I would think moderation is the key. All tobacco can be harmful if overused. The nose is a sensitive area, especially the upper sinus cavities. Personally, I would never use nasal snuff, due do a very very sensitive sinus. I have enough trouble with it let alone cramming tobacco up there on a regular basis

Relief of allergy symptoms & hayfever

            Clearer sinuses/reduced congestion

            Increased energy & mental clarity

As with all tobacco products, it can double your N-Acetyl-Cysteine levels-the bodies' most powerful antioxidant

Increased elasticity of the arterial walls/improved wound healing

Reduced risk of neurological disease (parkinsons/alzheimers)

Relief from headaches/migraines (the queen of Spain used snuff-with much avail-to treat her chronic headaches).

                    Nicotinic Acid is right on.

And when our grandfathers hurt themselves while hunting in the woods, they'd dip a finger in the American snuff they carried and rub the powdery tobacco into the wound.

                    It's amazingly medicinal.

                      This might help: -

                      http://www.snufftobacco.co.uk/health

Best quote from it is as follows....

"There has only ever been 1 reported case of cancer from snuff use in the UK, which was from a farmer in Suffolk who managed to put snuff in his ear(!!!!) for 40 years and developed ear cancer - yes the mind boggles how and why he managed to do this. Additionally Wilson's of Sharrow claim that they have never had a health claim filed against them and they are the oldest snuffmakers in the UK."

Funny you ask, I just posed the very same question on my personal blog which deals extensively with tobacco, among other stuff. With some help from RoderickToque, I found this:
