Rank the tobaccos from, IYO, safest to most dangerous...

(IYO = In your opinion, for those who don't know)
I'm just curious about what you guys think...
The tobaccos to be ranked (add more if you can think of them):
    Cigarettes,
    Cigars,
    Little Cigars,
Cheap Little Cigars (like the kind you can find in convenience stores, i.e. Swisher Sweets),
    Snus,
    Nasal Snuff,
    Dip,
    Chewing Tobacco,
    Hookah.

In my opinion, from most dangerous to safest:

    -Cigarettes
    -Cheap Little Cigars
    -Hookah
    -Dip
    -Chewing Tobacco
    -Cigars
    -Little Cigars
    -Nasal Snuff
    -Snus

I would tend to agree with you, though it's very hard to find info about any negative health impact of dry nasal snuff. It hasn't been used in hundreds of years as extensively as the others, so docs and scientists probably have little to go on. I'm guinea-pigging myself though, as a regular Toque customer, but IMO nasal snuff is as safe, if not safer than snus. Since using snus, I've been using American dip on and off and I notice it irritates the hell out of my gums and makes my teeth hurt when I eat. it's almost as if it stips the enamel off teeth! I like very much the fact that with Sweden's finest, the ingredients are listed. I bet casual dippers would be horrifed to find out what "secret sauces" that makers like Skoal put in their nasty-ass product. Rat poison and floor-scrapings would be my guess.

I would probably put any kind of smoking tobacco above any kind of oral tobacco, mostly due to the fact that the carcinogen-laden smoke is still coating the inside of your mouth, even if you don't inhale. The residue can also still be swallowed, not to mention any second-hand smoke you happen to inhale on top of that.

Mine are in line with the original posters list except I see the safest as

              Nasal Snuff.

There is a documented case of Snus causing a cancerous legion on some guy who was in his 90's ( believe thats how old he was ) while Nasal Tobacco has never had a documented case of cancer at all and it has been around longer.

Snus is still safe as hell but if I had to go with research id say Nasal Snuff is the safest.

I enjoy both Snus and Snuff so im happy!!!

                safest to most dangerous

                nasal snuff
snus (snuff is 2nd cuz snuff really doesn't bother your nose, whereas snus can irritate gums/teeth, though not too much)
                chew
                dip
                hookah
                pipe
                cigars
filterless premium (ryo) cigarettes (you don't inhale as deeply when the tobacco is very strong w/ little to no stem and no recon)
filterless crappy cigarettes (drum, zig zag)
                filtered cigarettes

A pack of marlboro mediums had me coughing and hacking for 2 days afterwards. An equivalent amount of filterless bali shag or American spirit doesn't phase me.

Marlboro mediums are the only cigarettes that ever made me throw up. :x I was never a fan of Cowboy Killers anyway, but those in particular tasted horrible.

Marlboro Mediums have the same amount of tar & nicotine as Marlboro Lights but they are given different additives to have a more "Full Flavor" taste; hence the packaging. I only smoked Marlboro when they were promoted during my early smoking days; toward the end, I stuck with Winston and American Spirit (both additive free... apparently).
