          over time

at first i would get hit HARD by the nic-kick, since i had never smoked cigarettes or anything. that was awesome. but then after awhile of having a pris in (especially with a strong portion) i would get KOed and sometimes actually have to lay down and rest for awhile to recover from my "hangover". that sucked.

now, after using snus for awhile i dont get knocked out, but i dont really feel the nicotine any more, i guess it just comes on subtly. i miss the buzz though.. :?

Its really relaxing, and makes it easier to consentrate on things. Like when I'm doing homework, I need to have a pris under my lip, otherwise its hard to consentrate.
A good cup of coffe, some jazz and a big pris of snus is the best way to start the day!

ive noticed that too, ive stopped having snus right before bed. also, i think im in the minority here in that i dont have an appetite for snus until like, after lunch...then i have an early afternoon cup of coffee and my first snus and usually some jazz too (karey)

              gotta love it

A citrusy floral snus in the morning with a normal amount of nicotine and some Mt. Dew or Mellow Yellow to compliment it really wakes me up and gets me going. I usually use Gotborgs Rape for this. A nice little buzz goes with it which is nice.

After that, during the day I have a different brand/flavor depending on what I feel like. It helps me concentrate. Gotlands Green is nice for a morning snus. It's light and airy with subtle flavors that tickles the palette.

After lunch, a snus with a heavier flavor is great. Julesnus is awesome for this, as well as being a nice desert snus without being too sweet. Gustavus Origional is good as well. It does have a citrus element, but it takes a back seat to the tobacco flavor. LD White is also great for this, I just wish the flavor lasted longer. Maybe in my next order I'll find a better replacement.

Sometimes I'll chain snus. Doing that keeps me alert and concentrating well on programming or connecting new computer/network hardware, etc. If I don't chain snus, I'll maybe wait an hour or two in between so I can get that little buzz going again.

If I get stressed out, Skruf Stark to calm me down fast. It also has a great buzz, I think that's a big part of what calms me down and mellows me out. I also enjoy the flavor very much.

When I get home from work and for the rest of the evening, something with a bergamot or licorice flavor to relax. If I'm in a great mood, I treat myself with Gotborgs Rape No. 2. So far to me, this is like drinking a fine wine, only better. Later on in the evening/night Gustavus Origional. It has a little more kick to put me in the relax mode, plust it has a nice flavor. Then I take it out about an hour before bed. If I'm having trouble getting to sleep, another portion of Skruf Stark for about 30 minutes. After the initial mind blowing buzz, it relaxes me a long and I can sleep.

The only time I ever slept with snus was before I ordered the good stuff from Sweden. Camel snus Spice or Frost. But honestly, after 30 minutes there isn't much flavor left in those, and when you wake up they taste down right nasty. Ever since I've bought real snus from Sweden. it seems like a waste if I'm not awake to enjoy the wonderful flavor. :P

In different situations different kinds of snus have different results.

In the morning, a stark portion goes in and I lose that dizzy, draggy, crappy, I just got hit by a truck feeling I get when I wake up. Not only that, but a get a small lift and I feel great about waking up.

At work, when things get stressful, I pop in a Eucalyptus and I'm back to relaxed, focused and have a boost of energy, not to mention the endorphins released from the pleasing flavor.

Going out, I have Roda Lacket on hand and it keeps me feelin' good. Nice complement to alcohol, I don't get too drunk yet the buzz lasts longer.

At home relaxing, I enjoy just about anything, usually Roda or Goteborg's and I get that restful, relaxing feeling without wanting to just pass out and sleep.

Yeah I've used Skruf Stark on a few occasions when I had to drag myself out of bed. Usually if I don't get enough sleep. IMO, it's great for this. I have some Nicotine and Johnny on order, I wonder how that will compare to the Skruf Stark for this use.

I have Catch Eucalyptus coming in with my next order. I primarily ordered it to use instead of cough drops, as I hate the sugary coat they leave in the back of my throat, plus they taste too medicinal. I suspect (and I hope I'm right) that Catch will give me the wonderful benefits of Eucalyptus with a taste and aftertaste that is more pleasant. I never considered to use it for relaxing, but I will definitely have to give that a try.

Gotborgs is an excellent snus for relaxing. I enjoy both No. 1 and No. 2. I love the taste of gin (Dirty Martini's in particular) but I don't get to drink that often anymore because of the muscle relaxers I have to take for an old back injury. At least now I can get that tasty Juniper flavor with No. 2. The hints of lingonberries are also a nice touch. There are times when I crave that sweet herbal taste to relax to. No. 1 does it perfectly. No. 2 for when I want a martini to kick back with. I have some LD Juniper on order as well, I'm curious as to how it will compare with the No. 2. I hope it lasts longer than the LD White. It just seems to loose it's flavor quicker than the more expensive brands.

I haven't yet had the chance to try Roda Lacket yet, but I have a tin of loose on order as well. I will probably only experiment with it at home until I get comfortable with loose, so I don't end up giving people that wonderful mushmouth smile. :P

Thank you for your post Lauritzen.
