I'm going to go out on a limb here and say don't chain snus when you start out. That's what I did and while I did not have the conditions you are describing, I did develop some nice little sores on my gums. I know it's tasty stuff, but give your body a chance to get used to it.

I'm taking it a bit easier on the snus now and my mouth is appreciating it. I'm guessing your heart will thank you as well.

Wow Paul, sorry that happened bud. Were you TRYING to kill yourself? Like all things, nicotine must be taken in moderation. The amount you consumed last night was WAY too much for your system [or anyone elses system] to handle. You don't have to quit snus. Try taking one portion every 2 hours, add in a few sniffs of snuff and that should curb any nic cravings. Nicotine has several side effects. Were you seeing things too?Hang in there.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

You are just learning what is too much for you. back it off a bit, and you will be fine. My first year of snus, my insomnia was definitely aggravated by it. Over time though, that issue self corrected.
The nic hits from snuff don't last long, so I suspect that as not playing a big role. But remember, you continue to absorb nicotine from the snus long after you take the portion out.

So until your body fully adjusts to it, cut out the chain snusing. Or, do what I am doing now that I got the Thunder and use a mini portion for those times between when you simply must have something in your mouth. Or even better maybe, there is so much new nicotine free snus available. Pick up a few cans of that and switch up with it occasionally.

Snuff is great, but I don't use it more than a few times a day while snusing, and when you do, you probably should space out your snus usage by about an hour or so around it. You've learned your limits, so just make sure you don't overdo it!

Also, don't forget, if you are snusing that much, stay off of high caffiene drinks!

            thanks for support

Thanks for your supportive comments guys, lots of useful tips. I'll stop the chain snusing and I might try the mini portions you were talking about, sage. I definately feel the need to have something in my mouth, maybe get some liquorice to suck on . An easy night tonight, I feel.

Maybe if you new to snus you you feel the nicotin. But the amount of snus you was talking about isnt dangerous, i have one can of ettan lös every day and i am not alone to snus this much. Nearly everbody here have one can per day.

I found I had to watch nasal snuff when I was experimenting with it as the nicotine uptake was much quicker than with snus. I think it's just your body's way of telling you too much in too shorter space of time. I would say just go a bit easier and if you get caught out again a Benzo like Diazepam/Valium or Alprazlolam/Xanax helps as a temporary bandaid to overcome the overdose symptoms until you can get your intake right so that you don't run into these problems again.

Also sometimes to cut down on my consumption just to have something in my mouth I just chew some regular gum and find this a good distraction.

Hey Paul, don't be worried. Didn't you recently quit smoking? If so, I think it is normal to have a few issues for a while. Your body is changing and you are trying to get into a new routine. I've been chainsnusing loose and only leave a pris in for an hour so 14 is about right for me in a day. I rarely use snuff though. It took me a while to get my dose down but it gets a lot easier after some time. I've been snusing for almost 2 months now and every day I feel better. Just take it easy and have a bit of patience with your transition. Cheers to better health.

I have been using snus exclusively since August, 2008 and never overdosed on nicotine. I keep in a portion for one hour and once I remove it, I wait one more hour to put in another one. This seems to emulate the amount of nicotine I was getting from smoking. However, when I'm drunk, I will chain snus General Ekstra Sterk, with no ill effects, since alcohol flushes nicotine out of your system. I don't know what to tell you, except to cut down to every other hour.

Yeah, I quit smoking a bit more than 2 weeks ago, and substituted cigs with snus. I have noticed that my lungs are clearer, I have stopped taking puffs on 2 asthma inhalers I was using (there is just no need to take them now), I can smell a hamburger downwind for a couple of miles . Positive stuff.

Thankfully I have had no issues since that night, and am now waiting an hour in-between snuses.

Wow, I use 1 roll (ten cans) per month and this is after quitting smoking a pack a day for 20 years.
