I visted the Swedish Match site (manufacturers of General, Gotesborg Rapé and Ettan and a few other brands) and found some interesting statistics on snus use and quitting cigarettes, among others.
The site states: Some 50 percent of snus users are former smokers. The flow in the other direction – from snus to daily cigarette use – is considerably lower. Some 7 percent of daily smokers are former snus users.
I wouldn't be surprised if the 50% figure was true for members of this forum.
My first car was a ford pinto, my first tobacco was a Camel non filter.
Still don't have a Rolls but I do have snus!
I would be in the multiple option group.
Tried snus on a whim.
Quiting smoking was not the objective of my first snus order, but because of snus it it now an option.
Completely quit dip, but again was not my intention.

No way, you had a Pinto? There was a guy on my block when I was really young who had one with an avocado-green paint job. For some reason, I always wanted to ride in it.
My first tobacco was a Lucky Strike non-filter. Hooray for starting off with a bang!
Indeed. Smoked first cigarette at age 12. Daily smoker (pack a day) since 14. Currently 32 (18 years smoking). Smoked last cigarette Nov. 20th, not coincidentally around the time my first shipment from buysnus arrived. I have no desire to smoke, enjoying the snus.. Another convert here..
I started snus'ing because Copenhagen was getting so expensive - and, because I found that the ingredients in snus are natural. Compared to "who knows what" is in Copenhagen, I found snus as a much better alternative.
It seems that I'm part of the minority on this subject. I might have smoked propably five or so cigarettes (in my short life) before I started snusing so I would say I didn't start it to get rid of cigarettes. I do enjoy smoking while getting shit-faced and some other times too but it just simply isn't the same as snusing. I've tried and I've tried so hard to get smokers (most of 'em females) to even try snus out but with no results. They somehow find it repulsive. I believe I have only one female friend who thinks my snusing is okay and she has no problems with the stuff in general. I really love to put a pris under my lip in front of those (females, of course) who find it repulsive. That's how discreet person I am.
Here's some chemical facts about nicotine.
