Since I've started snusing I've been able to run faster and longer since I haven't felt any inclination to smoke. My PFT with the Marines went from a 250/300 up to a 275/300, which isn't exactly an easy task. Take that, flawed study! Hah! xD

I'm still new to snusing, been doing it about a month and a half, I've noticed absolutely no difference in my workout routine. I do Army physical training 3x a week and hit the gym once or twice on top of that. If anything, I have more energy now than I did before. No change in weight whatsoever.

i ate a powerbar for breakfast, can of tuna for lunch with 5 saltines, a baked potato or 6 inch sub (only turkey or chicken mainly veggies no cheese) for dinner. cut waaaay back on meat and salt. a whole day of my eating would be a normal joe's meal. after my stomach shrunk up a bit I'd go a day of no eating at all. it gets to where you get a blast of energy from your food that you can feel. I started with 7 crunches a day because I was too fat to do anymore. That progressed to 100 in about 6 weeks. Did them every other day.
started feeling better and upped the exercise to walking almost every night, punching bags, push ups. I did like we did in the army..hard day easy day hard day easy day..nothing on sunday. every 3 weeks i'd go by a star crunch or a big choco chip cookie from the mail. it would give me mad runs. I was fat enough I could get away with this as long as I stayed well hydrated and multi vitamined.

I don't exercise much. I only do cardio and 30-50 sit ups every morning and I watch what I eat. I have been snusing for around 6months now and my doctor says that I'm in good shape; not obese.

My weight has plateaued at 193 lbs on a 6' 2" frame and I CAN NOT gain any more mass, although I have spoken with a personal trainer who swears he can get me to 215 lbs. I think he is a damn lie, but will be working with him after Xmas just to see. I did get down to 170 lbs and 12.5% body fat two years ago, but how hard is that if you restrict carbs to 20 grams per day? I was still smoking at that point in time.
How I WISH snus would help me gain weight.

Pretty lame study, I bet you'll see a lot of the men with high blood pressure and tobacco use also using alcohol. Maybe even not working out. Must be a guarantee that snus makes you fat. Could not possibly be that fat people make decisions based on enjoyment and not health.

Only day we didn't do that was on thursday's where we had unnecessarily long (up to 20k) ruck marches with 70+lbs in our pack, through usually moist sand.
It sucks getting trashed and having to wake up at 5 am to do this. But that's why I refuse to do any type of exercise now that i'm out lol. It's been 10 months without exercise, and I picked up snusing, and I havn't gotten fat. This article is rediculous and couldn't be further from the truth.
BTW: Snus seems to curb my apetite, anyone else have this?

There is no science behind those claims...
Like others have said nicotine increases your metabolism / curbs appetite
As for blood pressure, it could be an issue if you are ALREADY at risk for high blood pressure...
In fact I just had a checkup today and had my BP taken with a general white under my lip - Blood pressure looks good was the physicians reply
Keeping slim only requires about 2000 extra steps per day- Google it
I walk (sometimes jog) 2000 extra steps per day and have never been healthier...
