    Nicotine gum

I was thinking, most snus has about 8 mg of nic, gum has 4mg. Wouldn't one get the same nic hit from two pieces of gum that they would from a portion of snus?
    Any one try this?

I just don't like gum, any kind, and wouldn't use it, or want to.

It's also quite a bit more expensive. I think by me, one box of nicotine gum costs around $50. I think it's got 48 pieces in it, or something like that. 48 would make it four 12-count packs. Still, if you're going dose for dose against snus, you're looking at $50 for the same amount of nicotine that costs me $3.50. No thanks, I'll pass.

In addition to the economics, you get a crappy fake tobacco experience instead of some good tasting snus. I'd still use snus even if nicotine weren't addictive. Perhaps not as much as I do now, but I would still use it.

I like the snus experience; really any tobacco experience :^D I figure it's best to keep my smoking down, but again; even it it weren't addictive, I'd still smoke on occasion.

I would too but not sure how long my gums are going to hold out using snus and am looking for an alternative. Won't go back to cigaettes, e-cigs are going off the market at some point, now thinking of snuff or the gum.

I would use snuff full time if I had to quit snus for some reason. I'm against synthetic nicotine replacements on principle, and would smoke cigarettes in preference to them.

Now, the new Camel Orbs have a slight interest with me. Haven't tried them though. Gum health does enter my mind too. I don't want to smoke either. The e-cig I haven't tried. I'm not convinced they will be off the market soon. I like snuff, but it congests me at times. Sometimes I think I wanna quit it all. I do like snus, and don't feel a need to quit at this time. I still have a stockpile, but I don't know what I may think later.

If I had to quit snus, I'd probably go to snuff full time, and pick up either cigars or a pipe for occasions. Hell, I'm thinking about grabbing a pipe now, thanks to sage and the pipe smokers at snuffhouse. I think that snuff and pipes might hold up to time in the US better than snus if anti-tobacco nuts get their way with things, simply because there's a long history of both being used.

I tried snuff a couple times and was really put off by all the brown crap (tobacco) in my nose. Will order some but how do you guys deal with this?

I had the same feeling going into snuff but have found this to be the best part actually. No more nasty boogs, just nice scented ones and you never know what is a boogie or a snuff ball. The more snuff I do, the more hygienic I feel.

Gum, i had a favorite brand, and would chew it in preference to any other type. It was a cheapish store brand, and the mondo box of 170 pieces got down to around thirty bucks toward the end, so it was not incredibly expensive. I used it to quit the cigs for about seven months in total (two different stints), but kept chewing it when I finally gave up and went back to smoking. Then along came snus, and I thought I'd have three monkeys on my back, but the gum monkey's death came almost immediately. The cigarette monkey has been more stubborn, but I smoked the equivalent of an entire cigarette in October and November; none so far this month. I even have my permission, but every time I think about it I have a snus in my mouth that I don't want to take out for a lousy cigarette.

Interesting word choice. I used to always smoke and snus at the same time. Now I don't want my snus polluted with cigarette smoke. It never used to bother me, but I really dislike it now. I haven't had a cigarette in over 1 month, but I had started waiting to use snus for awhile after having a cigarette so the flavor wouldn't be ruined. I haven't really had the urge for a smoke, at least not enough of one to go out and buy tobacco.

If you want nicotine without the tobacco or annoying chewing techniques with the gum, you may be interested in this product:

                              http://www.niconovum.se/Products.aspx

The company, Niconovum, is a Swedish NRT company. The nicotine pouches are strikingly similar to snus, minus the actual tobacco. I'm not sure if you can order these off the internet and get it shipped to America though.

I will stick with good ol' snus. The oral health aspect doesn't bother me in the least bit.
