    Snus on cardio vascular disease.

Anyone ever worry about the risks to cardiovascular disease? I have read a study done awhile back on 100,000 swedish construction workers that gave some scary statistics about snus effects on the cardio vascular system. Now a recent study posted on the thread below this one is also finding a link. Wouldn't it be crazy if snus is actually more dangerous for the cardio vascular system them smoking? I doubt it, but ya never know.

Maybe the way people use snus, They can have a patch in their mouth all the time with a really steady strong source of nicotine being put into the blood stream through a different course. With smoking, It is more about spikes. You get a high nicotine fix, and then it subsides rapidly. Could perhaps the steady intake of salt and nicotine at a concentrated amount actually be pretty dangerous?

    regards,.

CONCLUSIONS--In middle aged men snuff dipping is associated with a lower risk of myocardial infarction than cigarette smoking.

This is the first study I have seen where they compare with smokers, pretty cool. Most of the studies compare snus use with pristine people that never smoked. I would love to see a study where they compare snus use to someone that smoked 2 packs per day for 30 years and then show how much safer snus is.

Sad story, I tried getting one of my smoker friends to try snus. The first thing he asked of course was about mouth cancer. Then he said he just didn't think it was safe putting tobacco in his mouth and swallowing the juice, then lit up another cig (cause he smokes 3 packs a day) and popped open a beer and said, "Yeah, just doesn't seem safe to me, thanks anyway" LOL

@ Coderguy......its not a funny story..... its a sad one.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.
