There isn't really any viable way to determine any sort of enjoyability factor in comparing various nicotine delivery systems due to the unquantifiability of such considerations. We here on the forum do however have a very large sampling of anecdotal evidence that, of course, favors snus over virtually all other delivery systems. Anecdotal evidence is anathema to researchers but we are privy to a great walloping pile of such evidence so I don't think that drawing the conclusion that snus is a superbly effective method of smoking cessation is out of line.

Snus just wins outright, I'm sure virtually everyone here (a biased sample to be sure but a big one) would agree, because of its far superior sensory satisfactions. Not only is snus an effective method of smoking cessation it is the sensually satisfying nature of the product that serves to keep us interested in its use. Few if any of the other methods can make that claim.

Here is the money quote from the Abstract

Analysis of the ratios of different PAHs confirmed that the use of fire-cured tobaccos in the snuffs and soft pellet were the major source of PAHs in these product styles, and provided, for the first time, some indications as to the source of PAHs in the other STP styles, including petrogenic and other combustion sources.

Which tells us what we have known all along...snus is much safer because it is pasteurized not fire-cured. I be interested to see what the single elevated PAH level in snus means in context.......But overall..... from the abstract ......... it looks to be basically the same conclusions found by other studies.....which will then be ignored by the anti-tobacco zealots to the harm of those they are seeking to help

Very interesting study. Quick summary, smoke kills cells, pure nicotine and snus does not.

Also I have found it helps vastly in the reduction of my Hidradenitis Suppurativa, unfortunately could not find any research being done in that direction, otherwise I would not have mentioned anecdotal evidence in this section.

No Stroke Risk With Snus

“Swedish researchers who two years ago reported no association of heart attacks with snus use now conclude there is no association with stroke. The new study, appearing in the Journal of Internal Medicine, is once again the product of a collaboration of scientists from the Karolinska Institute; Sweden’s Umeå, Uppsala and Lund Universities; and the University of Milano-Bicocca in Italy.”

I'm completely convinced that snus is safe - apart from heart problems. I'll snus all day and I'll be chilling out at home and all of a sudden my heart will do some very interesting gymnastics. It only happens after a heavy snussing day.

This same exact thing happens to me. Kinda scary but I don't think its snus related as it would happen to me before tobacco use. I'm 26 and in excellent health as far as I know.
